He bought me a crank, right? Isn't that enough? (not really)

And HE'S asked for this thread to be removed.....dozens of times so his wish should be granted because HE asked for it. (like it's gonna happen cause I owe that to him, right?)

You guys don't have to harrass Ryan and his family anymore. HE BOUGHT A CRANK!!!!!
It's all better now. He bought me a crank, right? Isn't that enough?

Funny, because I just heard from my source that he wanted it left up so that it reminds him every time he is on Snowest to be a better person.:D

But of course I can't reveal my source of this top secret information that I just told.

Scott,

If you're satisfied than your lynch mob (us) should be satisfied. I'm glad to hear you got what you needed.

Ryan - you're still a little puke for trying to scam Scott! Good luck finding a riding buddy this winter, anyone that rides with you should be ashamed.

Apparently my sarcasm has gone over your head :), as it did his too. LOL

Like I said before in the sale thead:
http://snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149214

I'm not satisfied and never will be. I still didn't get what I paid for. BUT it's over with I guess. So that's it.

After all this...
Ryan did send me some money to buy a crank off ebay.

I still have to pay just over $700 my own shipping, buy and ship new pistons, have the cyls and domes machined/cleaned up and pay labor for all of this extra disassembly and reassembly of the engine to get it back to the condition Ryan advertised it.

Ryan did offer to split the cost of some exhaust valves from a salvage yard.

that all sounds exactly like how wattsmasonry does business. he just stole $370 worth of clothing from me. and that was at a huge discount to help him out.

some people out there are just scum. it sucks that they find there way into the forums and screw it up for the rest of us.

I hate crooks like that. And beware, Ryan Yarrow is still at it on HCS, some people just don't learn. Hope all works out for you Snowday.

First of all I'd go back to PayPal and demand they make it right and you return that POS motor to them.

If they refuse, you might consider initiating a charge back with your credit card if that's how you pay your Pay Pal account. You'll tick PayPal off if you do that, but your credit card will back you on this. If you pay PayPal right out of your bank account, you might try talking to your bank.

Otherwise, small claims court.

I would NOT let this jerk off the hook.

Scott,
New York State has some pretty strong consumer protection & anti-fraud laws. I would strongly consider contacting the Monroe County DA's office and press criminal charges.

Given the evidence you've presented, (depending on the purchase price) you have a case.

Best of luck

Dang, thats sucks so bad. 99% of this forum is awsome. They're great to get advice from and work with. As others say it is that 1% that ruin it for everybody. I've purchased a good amount of stuff from the Swapmeet and have had great luck except on a Pro-X shorty seat. The seller claimed it was in perfect shape with just a small tear the size of a dime where the seat wraps under. He sent pics and the seat looked great. So I sent him the check and I waited and waited. I sent him PM's and emails, and nothing. Finally a month later he said it was in the mail. I got the package a week later and the seat was in really rough shape. The structural integrity is so soft compared to my other pro-x seat and there are multiple rips and tears. I was not excited, but the guy wouldnt write back and when he did he was not interested in returning my check. Completely bogus, but at least it was just a seat, not a motor like Scott got screwed on. I feel for you man, I hope everything works out and this guy gets what is coming to him. Karma will correct it. I guess I will never understand why people do crap like this, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to buy a used 600 VES from the guy. NOT NOW!
Your situation looks like a basic fraud to me.
No different than a guy who sends you a check , saying don't worry, the funds are in my account, and when you go to the bank it comes back NSF, worthless.
He totally misrepresented what he was selling you in order for you to get you to give him some money. You sent the money and got a worthless piece of junk.
I would be doing a little research, finding out where the guy lives, and file a complaint with the local law enforcement agency. Most Police agencies have dedicated units to investigate internet scammers. They probably already have dealt with him. You have done a good job of keeping record of what he said about the motor, great evidence.
This guy needs JAIL.

No its not over! This guy still deserver to ret tied to a sled and rode off a clif! No one should have to do the work to get what they paid for. He still scammed u no matter if later he tried to make it right. Are his parents Robert and Sharron?

this sucks!! i will say in the last 2 months i have purchased alot of parts from guys on here..they have all been great transactions.sucks there is always a dirtball out there..i buy alot of jeep parts on line and have yet to have a issue... i think pirate4x4.com will personaly send some mean guys if you get ripped off on there!!!
there has to be some members that live buy this guy...why dont someone go pay him a visit?

In reading this thread I noticed there are some misconceptions about paypal's buyer protection. The "significantly different than described" dispute process is only available for ebay transactions. PayPal is owned by ebay, and they offer little or no buyer protection for private transactions that are paid for through paypal.

If I was thinking about spending a significant amount of money for something listed on an internet swap meet forum, I would see if they were willing to list it on ebay, and make sure all the claims they made are stated in the listing (I would also pay the difference to cover the ebay seller fee). If not I would keep looking.

In my experience, paypal buyer protection has been great for ebay transactions. In one case they even provided a prepaid shipping label for me to return an item (sent me a link that I just clicked on to print the label).

I just looked back at my stuff and that IS Ryan Yarrow's phone number.

His listing is always the same.
He doesn't part out his own sleds...he parts out stuff at a local salvage yard. Don't let his listing fool you. It's been the same listing for a couple years.

What is his username on HCS? Maybe I could post a warning to potential buyers in his ads. Jesse.

This really sucks, I have read lots of your posts, between this scumbag and all of your fun with PSI have you even been on the snow this year?
You are doing the right thing, keep us all informed.

I've had this engine on the snow once so far. Two Sundays ago.

I need to get some miles, and some tuning done first before I will be happy.

Turbotater worked this engine over pretty good so I'm sure it will run fine if I can get er tuned.
