I have learned a TON from the members here. Just the 900 poo section alone has saved my buddy a LOT of money. BUT, what if the members that I have gotten the most help from, leave because of the fee?

Moderators, I don't mind them, I have even a few posts deleted, no biggy, if that person thought I broke a rule, ok. No dealers, or aftermarket business's should be a mod, plain and simple. Their egos are way to big for that kind of power.

This site has turned into my second favorite web site. As a flatlander, I have to come here to get info regarding my mountain sled, and my friends mountain sleds. 10 dollars for 3 years, yea, I can swing that, and if the quality falls off, well then I don't have to renew at the end of the 3 years.

Too many bells and whistles is not always a good thing. Think of a new car, it has all the coolest stuff, and it is fun to play with all those things for a month or two, but then that newness wears off, you don't use it, and it was a wasted option that you spent money on. GET IT? Oh yea, the new swapmeet absolutely SUCKS!

Christopher, I am not one of the doom and gloom guys, but I have read a lot of the threads of what us the USERS like and dislike. Sometimes I think you are a little arrogant, and bullheaded. Do not let that type of attitude cost you your job. Yes, you do need to think of it that way. If Snowest fails as a pay site, and folds, you just lost your job. Now, maybe that would not be a big deal, maybe it would, I don't know your personal finances, but I sure would hate to be the guy who took one of the top 3 sled sites in the world, and flushed it down the toilet.

I really hate to see this become a pay site.

I have seen what happens to programs when people are asked to pay. You might get about 1/3 of the people who are willing to support the cause and the rest will just bail.

Take for instance Snowest Active Members: 14,023

Take a little under 1/3 of that number and you are looking at your new Snowest Active Member list.

I see alot of knowledge going out the door. If many of you have not noticed alot of the good old boys left years ago.

Anyway I wish the new site luck and hope I am wrong!

Go look at another certain forum's members list and see YOUR MODERATORS as members there. That is a conflict of interest for SNOWEST. If they want to be two faced and not show true support for this site, then they should not be Moderators for this site.

IMO Snowest will lose a lot of credibility if you continue to have Moderators that show disloyalty.

I know all about it, and have spoken to some of them about it.

Believe it or not, i try not to be rash in making important decisions. Lets give it a little time before we decide to hang anyone Jake.

on a different note: not everyone has $10 to spend but, lets be honest, like was said earlier in this thread.. for all the info, fun and friendships that have been made. $10 is nothing.. as much time as some people spend on here, it really is dirt cheap entertainment..

ill pay the $ and see what happens. and, because i can, ill also look at whatever other forum i choose..

I keep seeing this number in peoples posts - "$10 for 3 years", but the way I understand it it's going to be $10 per year if you prepay for 3 years upfront ($30 for 3 years). Am I mistaken?

When you can give me clear cut non-biased PROOF that one of our Moderators is acting out of line or abusing the authority I have given them, then I will take action.

But you had better be sure you can provide me with chapter and verse when you decide to attack one of them.

Given the THOUSANDS of PMs I get and the huge volume of threads and posts, I really do try hard to reply to everyone, but there will always be times that I miss questions.

This new stuff will not be advantageous for anyone stuck on dial up.
It will overload their bandwidth.
Ever try to watch a You Tube video on dial up?
Same thing but no-one will answer that question from SW.

Doesn't every internet experience suck on dial up? Not trying to start anything but what does your dial up issue have to do with Snowest?
