"This site is too slow!"
"I can't say whatever I want!"
"All these new changes too are scary for me!"
" I should get everything for free!"
" I have a rash and am chafing!"

D*mn, there is an awful lot of whining and complaining around here all of a sudden. Suck it up. If you can't or won't spend a few bucks (less $$$ than it takes to fill up your sled with one tank of good gas) for a what is still a pretty d*mn good site, well then, you probably have an over-developed sense of entitlement. Either that, or your "real" life is seriously lacking, as this must be your worst problem.

Don't want to spend the $$? Fine. But for the love of God, stop b*tching about it. If the changes and $$ membership money put an end to this all this crying, that right there is worth it as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention that fact that it will most likely thin out some of the constant thread poaching and bs topics.

This is still a good site. There is still a lot of good info here. Let me know when and how much, and I'm in.

No chit already! Tell me when and where to pay....maybe the rif raf will play on the free sites.

I'm on dial up ... and YES it does SUCK!!!

You have to get very creative on how you search... I'm sure you are a jedi master of Dial up Surfing AR... I know it is an art that takes time to refine.

One thing that helped for me was the switch to Mozilla...

Doesn't every internet experience suck on dial up? Not trying to start anything but what does your dial up issue have to do with Snowest?
The point is that it worked, albeit slowly before all these changes that have already been implemented but once the newest streaming stuff is added it will possibly become unusable with dial up.
I live in an area that a high speed connection is not an option without a huge investment and this site is the only site I would feel the need to make that huge investment if it was too slow to use otherwise and I would be forced to leave for that reason alone.

And no, not every internet experience for me "Sucks" with dial up.
I'm not a kid who watches video or other social networking sites at all.
I;m on SnoWest because of the history I have with it and the friends I've made on it and tech help I have given an received over the years.
I have no use for the rest of the garbage.

AR, bud, give up. Life's too short. You aren't going to change their minds. Only thing that will change any minds on this is the freemarket.

I keep seeing this number in peoples posts - "$10 for 3 years", but the way I understand it it's going to be $10 per year if you prepay for 3 years upfront ($30 for 3 years). Am I mistaken?

You are correct. It is $10 per year. I'm glad to see so many of you giving it a chance. It seems overwhelming now, but I really think Snowest is going to become even better. And you all can help fine tune it! Support it rather than condemn it and the fun and knowledge will continue.
Even if I wasn't a moderator I would still be happy to pay for use to this site. This place has been a big part of my life over the years. Like many of you I have gained untold amounts of information. I can't put a price tag on the fun i have had or the friends I have made here.
Cheers to everyone
:beer; :beer; :D

Wow, there are some really wonderful snowmobiling videos that you are missing out on.

And there are going to be a WHOLE LOT more of them on SnoWest in the coming months
I buy and collect the video's I want to see to support the people who produce them . It's the only way to keep them making them.

I have probably the fastest computing and connection available at my desk at work at a VERY large Aerospace company here.
I still don't feel the need for the "Froo Froo" social Network sites.
That's just me.

.
Your past post made it sound like you were suffering horribly from a dial up connection, when in fact you have the fastest computing and connection available.

Ah, OK, I have been locked into this one thread for hours now and didn't know there was a 2nd one running.

That sorta illustrates the issues with the additions and changes to the forums here. I have no idea where the he11 I'm supposed to go to look for info. General always seemed to be the place for general stuff of all sorts, but apparrently now general forum stuff goes in the forums section and general snowmobile stuff goes in the other but there isn't a place to put general Polaris stuff for example.

It's all just pretty confussing and dang annoying when one is following something and then it is either moved or closed.

Don't misunderstand my motives Sled Guy.
I don't expect to change anybody's direction on this runaway train.
I would, however like to see just a little respect and dignity shown to the real value of this site and that is the members and their concerns, opinions and input.

And you are absolutely correct, the free market will decide in the months and possibly even years to come whether this change was for the better or not.
I do feel though that the personality and the content of the 4M has changed forever with so many old timers gone.
