Sled to sled snow bungee

What bungee can you hit hard in between 2 sleds?

I have seen a sled pull out another trenched sled with a snow bungee. I wasn't able to ask them what they were using, but the stuck sled trench on the side of a hill while trying to get turned back down. Another sled came down, stopped by him, hooked up the bungee, and hit it pretty hard. It popped him right out!

I have seen the rattler, which says like 400lbs of pulling power, but it seems like a sled with a headstart will put a lot more than 400lbs of pressure on it. Will it hold up to that?

Which one are you guys using?

Thanks....

Aaron

you arent supposed to jerk with the sno bunje, you hook it up and stretch it out with the unstuck sled, then you can get the stuck sled out.

The Cobra is the best for hooking two sleds together. Works awesome! We still have several in stock and have free shipping.

In deep powder, which is were I seem to need something like this, wouldn't that lead to 2 stuck sleds???

yep the two sleds stuck can happen pretty easy! When they work they work great, but I have seen it turn into a octapus effect too. They can provide great entertainment,

Never use the sled to sled unless all parties have helmets and goggles on!

I personally prefer to use a climbers rope that I made with multiple handle loops in it. It is longer and you can get multiple people on the rope. I just think it works better IMO. Now if It was JUST one guy pulling the bunjie is better.

I'm typically only riding in a party of 3, so it seems like the sled to sled would be the most help. Not totally uncommon for 2 of the 3 sleds to be stuck either:face-icon-small-hap

X2 on the climbing rope. It's stretchy (almost elastic like) and very strong - I once pulled out a stuck Subaru with my Toyota pickup on a single strand.

Probably less convenient than a Snowbunje though, unless you add your own hooks. On the other hand, you ought to be able to pick up a retired climbing rope for next to nothing. Cut a section off to use for your sled, and braid the rest into the best 3-strand tow rope you'll ever own. Better for pulling out stuck rigs than any static rope, and much stronger.

Funny side note: first time I tried pulling out a sled with climbing rope, it didn't end so well...my buddy had beached his XLT, so I brought my RMK around and tied off the rope to his front bumper and my rear bumper...with 24' of rope in between.

"Ready?" I asked. "Yep" he replied, and I hit it hard...exactly 24 feet later, I was upside down and staring into the headlight of my still-accelerating sled with my knee pinning the throttle, wondering what the hell just happened. The stuck XLT sure did come out though.

Lesson 1. You don't need 24' of rope to pull out a stuck sled.

Lesson 2. When you hit the other end of said rope at speed, there's gonna be an equal and opposite reaction.

Lesson 3. 30MPH feels really fast when you're hanging upside down off the handlebars by your knees.

Lesson 4. It's perfectly acceptable to have your buddy sign a non-disclosure statement regarding any unintended antics that he may witness in the process of pulling out his stuck sled.

the cobra's ROCK.. dont go nuts and jerk on em.. but a little momentum will easily whip as sled around in a hurry, and as soon as the front sled starts to sink in a hair, stop. now you have a TON of force still pulling on the sled, and get down and pull a ski, can get out of a LOT of spots with them.. they work awsome.

also, if you get stuck turning out on something, have the other guy come down next to you and you hook it up... hold the stuck sled WOT and yank, the thing will just dig its way in a circle.. takes some time to get perfected, but you can get out of some pretty stickey spots with it.

its ugly when they come unhooked!!!

Yes, thats why i almost never use two sleds, i have the accessory handle from the rattler that fits right on the hook of the cobra which works very very well for getting a sled unstuck when it cant be rolled over or you don't want to roll it.

I bought the sled-to-sled snobunjie 4 years ago and haven't used it once.

The hand-held one is the one you want.

You'd be amazed how well one of those on each ski pulls a non-yamaha sled out of a creek bed.

If you have a yamaha, better have a chinook on standby regardless.

2 hand held bungees with 2 people on each bungee pulled this sled up and out.

The sled to sled works great. If you like to work hard go with the one you pull by hand. Don't listen to the people that have never used it. They don't work in ever situation, but many.

You definitely have to use them with care, lots of force when stretched. Helmet and backpack on! My buddy had one come unhooked and snapped him in the ***, not pretty. Sit down and take cover when pulling.
