Ski Doo RT 1000 platform vs Rev 800 platform

also interested in the 110 lb drop

i think i'm at 70-75lbs, must be alot under body to take off, different tunnel sure would help too, hmmm

Been awhile since I have done anything to it. I will try to remember everything.

All unnecessary plastic removed - 10 lbs
Boss seat - 12 lbs
Ti springs - 6 lbs
Holtz a arms - 10 lbs
Front cooler delete - 8 lbs
Outter air box removed - 6 lbs
Aluminum bars and riser - 2 lbs
Straight line performance pipe - 8 lbs
thing stinger - 12 lbs
ez ryde rear suspension - 25 lbs
There are a few other weight savings on my sled but I cannot remember them all.
This is my backup sled and now that I ride a four stroke I barely ever ride the Rt anymore, but it is still a fun mount to get on once in awhile.

ya, i will let ya know how the skid is, also getting wider front with longer travel shocks, really gonna bag her, always wanted the 1000, dont really care for the 800s, when all you gotta do is make the 1000 lighter, and the sdi come on, nothing can beat that, am sick of carbs, and will never ever buy an arctic cat, and i will never let a polaris tow me off the mountain, but do like the yamaha apex and nytro, so the rt1000 is light by them 2, lol, in feb will be all over bc and alberta, should be fun

My neck hurts every time that I ride my RT. I love riding my wifes 600 and my buddies 800 when the snow is hard or when I am on the flats. But in the steep stuff with alot of snow I love my RT. I love it anytime really it is just alittle harder to turn in the hard stuff. I have an 06 162 with Smitty's inside wheels kit, Smitty's Drop down brackets, DJ's clutch kit (a must, it really wakes it up), removed the sway bar (this is also a must), and simmons Gen II skis. It is a monster!!!

i have both and they are a perfect combo both run really well dont know if i could choose between the two

i have a chance to buy a 2005 summit highmark 1000 with 943 miles on it, has risers and can! guy wants $4650.00 for it, i have till sat nite to get it! im from nebraska and only get to mountains max 1 x a yr! did this year have alot of problems? if so what were they and cost to fix!

On the 05 a must is the 07 mid alt mapping.. mine has never ran better untill the day i got that done.. the 800's will be a better boondocking sled.. but any climbing i love mine and i just pull away from all the 800's i ride with.. once you ride a set up rt you will be addicted to the power.. the rt is like a diesel compared to gas motor (800's) it has the torque to pull out of everything.. mines the 162 and i wouldnt have it any other way.. even racing down a trail.. i pull away from all my buddies well over 100 mph (says the sled speedo.. who trusts those...) but all in all depeneds on what kinda ridding your gonna be doing

If you only get to the mountains one time a year i wouldn't recommed the RT. Apparently they rock in the mountains but i think you'd be much happier on another sled on flatland. And in that price range you could find a decent 800 REV...
