Silvertip's Playground 09

Sat. at Cisco

Rode out of Cisco for the 3rd time in a week on Sat. Some sled had gone up the road last night. So we were able to zip right up to the High country. Cold again this morning like 8 to 10 deg. berrrrrr!!!! The parking lot was almost full when we left. Lots of guys and gals getting out to enjoy the first decent snow of the yr.
I rode with Greg and Eric from NC today and we had Eric brand new Dragon out on its maiden ride. This is a VERY nice sled. We had lots of stucks and a few stump were found. I got to look up close and personal at my head light 4 time on this ride. That has got to be a record. Nothing like having your sled STOP and the driver not!!!!!!!!!

We did 55 miles and only got one radius rod with a light bend in it.

We went back down by Yoder's log and it didn't look like it had snow up there at all.

We were able to get up the North side of Buzzards Roost. It was a nice climb up though the trees and the snow was pretty deep going up there.

Greg coming across the top of Buzzard looking back for Eric.

And here comes that shiny White sled with Mt Lola in the background.

1 Jan 09 Grouse

I rode yesterday with Bev, Chuck, Eric, and my bud powder hound. Still lots of untracked areas out there.
I went across a big down log and then Scott came across it and we went on down the hill. No one showed up so we went back and Bev had fall off the log into the creek. NOT GOOD Luckly she was not hurt and we had the sled out in a few mins.
PowderHound sent me two Pic. to post of what happen in both (shall we say stops).
First is Bev's Sled. In my Pic. you can see the big limb that stopped the sled from falling on Bev. The sled was resting on the limb. She was in the creek on her back. It could have been real bad.

1 Jan 09 Part 2

When we show up at the Hour Glass this is what was waiting for us. I'm not going to make any bad mouth remarks about this. It has happen to all of us that have tried to climb a bad A** hill and not made it.

And then one of the poor young follows had his sled roll just as he was starting to come down the hill after helping. Everyone that has been that far up the hill knows just how steep it is where the two sled were parked.

It was 5 young guys from the Reno area. One of them is on the fourm and like I said it has happen to all of us. Real nice guys. Thank for the PM.:beer; Talked to them a little and was going to show them the way out to Bear Valley. But the guy made it out of Glacier and was on his way home.

And lastly a group Pic. taken with to much cloud cover. :(

Thanks for the pics!!

Thanks for the pictures Silvertip! Made it back to the Jackson Meadows Parking lot...just barely! Fun day of sledding! Sled is torn apart and should be ready by Tuesday for some midweek riding. Nice trench from a buddy ahead of me sent me flying to the left into a nice granite rock outcropping! Nun and an A-arm but that's about it! Fun day of riding so it's all worth it! :D

It was real nice seeing everyone today. If you need to go on a weight loss program. Try riding the Rattlesnake trail about 3 or 4 time and it will jar it off of you.

I rode today with Chad800, Visi, and Eric today. Made the loop around Tom's Valley, White Rock and Paradise Valley today. I can't remember seeing as many sled out on the snow as we seen today. Looked like everyone was have fun.

I belive it was about 75 miles and the sled ran GREAT I am back. I should have called you sorry I didnt next time.

You are right but I cant lie and say I get it all. I beleive I will try it again this weekend but I will have Nitorous hooked up so cross fingers and hope that the outcome is diffrent. Yes I am glad the sled is back up I am so happy with the Assault John at Sierra Sport did a great and super fast turn around on the motor he is my hero. Love the short track, the aggressive lugs, the suspension, motor, the IQ chassi, everything it is all it was cracked up to be and more. See you in Elko my friend....

I rode with the NC troopers today again. We got a late start because of the ICY condition out there. It was a short ride today because Eric Turbo Yammy got a bad oil leak and we had to come in.

Not many Pic today.

Still need more snow young grasshopper :face-icon-small-ton

What are you talking about....I see a line through the rocks:)

Glad I didn't ride today....I was checking over things and found a problem. Broke a motor mount that got loose, hit the back of the primary and took a chunk out of it, and then cut a hole in the oil line to the crank!!!!!! Luckliy it must have just happen and I don't "think" I did any damage. I do need a new clutch though. As for the motor mount, it was the one mount that is actually a bolt that screws into the motor strap.....somehow it came loose and must have backed out. Weird............wonder if it is under warranty.

If I were you??????????????
I wouldn't be posting this!!!!!! Their is a guy on here who thinks that nothing can happen to a partial brand of sled. An you may burst his bobble. Because we know that ALL sled break if you ride them.:p:beer;

Oh!!!!!! sorry to hear about it thou. ;)
