Silber Install Tips

CAREFUL ON HOW TIGHT YOU DO THE AIRBOX TO THROTTLE BODY BOOT BOLTS:frusty:

I didnt even do mine that tight and first ride it went.

The bolts are not "to hold it together" once the TB's are seated in the boot there in there friggen good and once the airbox iss on the TB its on there solid.

Also i had one of the allen bolts back out on me, so maybe a dab of blue loctite on them wouldnt be a bad idea.

So what happened to the bolts that hold the airbox to throttle body? did they break?

When you guys get tired of the grommets ripping on the airbox bolts, go to a plumbing section and get some square cut washers for water taps. Work way better.

Which fuel plug is everyone using? The ethanol plug or the high octane? What exactly would the pro's and cons be when running a turbo?

when i asked Justin he swaid to have the ethanol plug in.

The way i see it, is that the turbo mapping was based off the ethanol plug in,
so if you change the plug to non ethanol you would be 5% lean accross the map.

thanks!!
Only 1 other question I can think of right now before I start the install this afternoon. I briefly looked at the instructions you emailed me and through the box of parts. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or? How does the flex cold air intake tube attach to the stock intake box? The intake box is square and the flex tube in round. An I missing an adapter or something? I couldn't find anything about it in the install instructions.

you cut it to length and them form it into the shape of the plenum. Then it just pushes right in.

I used a 2 long pair of needle nose pliers and shaped the rectangle to fit up in the air intake system about 1.5 inches then trimmed the side that was open in the airbox. You will see when you start messing with it. You dont want to push it up there too far or you willclose off the hose.

thanks!!

Nope, you just take the flex pipe and make a rectangle with it using your hands then jam it up in there, once its in there it isnt going anywere

What i find works good if you take the baffles/sleeves out of the plenum then pop off the clutch side intake thing, and you can pull the flex pipe up and in there good with a set of pliers.

I also added the slp intake, the more air the marrier... plus with the baffels out it sounds cool

I don't know that it's nessicary, but it sure can't hurt.

X2 only can help more area to bring in air plus the compressoer wheel comes up that tube and echos in there :face-icon-small-hap this equals 25 mind horsepower, plus when i installed mt slp intake i drilled to far and went in to the baffles/sleeves..oops.
So i just ditched them.

What are everyones thoughts on using 2 stroke oil for the turbo lube system vs regular automotive oil?
