Should PRO's come standard with a voucher for one free helicopter extraction?

I'd take a free heli ride. I've never flown in any sort of aircraft before. It'd be pretty cool especially if it's free.

I'm thinking this would help ease concerns over broken skirts, scored pistons, exploding cases, etc. that could leave a guy stranded in the backcountry.

Don't you think think the helicopter would run out of fuel before it got that far back in the mountains? That is why I tried an xm this year. Went to Alpine and my sled made it 12 miles before it blew up and we towed it to the trailer with my wife's pro.

Must suck to be you, I've got over 900 trouble free miles on my (leftover)13XM this season :face-icon-small-hap Other than crappy ft shocks.

If you don't like what Polaris is doing...

Talk to Polaris. Public whining is not endearing and results in nothing positive as far as I can tell...

We are doing things on snowmobiles now that would have been next to impossible just a few years ago. I for one am having way more fun today than ever before. Our manufacturers are pushing boundaries and that sometimes comes with reliability risks. I don't wish for them to become more conservative in their approach to pushing the edge... Today I can jump from my XM to a Pro or PC and keep the same stupid grin the entire time. Seems like we are coming out the winners...

i beleive his point was for the money of the new sleds you could get a little more dependabillity than the 2k,ish miles a lot of riders are saying there sleds are scattering at. boat and chainsaw 2s rip and stand up for years of dependability.
p.s do a bunch of you work for polaris? or why are you so sensotive about 1 person's opinion of a sled?

I think everybody gets his point the problem is "Bigman" beats this dead horse every week or so either to get a reaction (troll) or because of stupidity.

Curious how many paid for helicopter extraction ever regardless of sled used? I ride a poo and don't have helicopter rescue phone number in my speed dial, should I?

Cant see any civilian helicopter be of much use in Colorado at altitudes of 10k+ asl most ride at. So who would one call in Colorado for a helicopter lift beside the national guard or returning aviation units at fort cartoon? Turbine helis not cheap per hour operating time and cant think of a single common piston rotary winged aircraft that has OGE hover capabilities under its own weight at altitude.

Better off getting a pair of snowshoes and writing sled off on insurance

Having a sled blow up in the backcountry is nothing new. In fact it was at least a once a year thing (usually more) way back when with the group I rode with. Modded sleds and stockers are way more dependable today.

Usually went like this. Someone blows up. Everyone gathers as the last curse words are spewed and the plugs go back in and the brand ribbin' really flows. Someone cuts a tall tree and sticks it in the snow beside the sled with some ribbon on the top (cause their dad taught them to do that) and you double out where you can and hike the rest.
When you got home you already knew who was "lending" an engine but it was up to you to do the R and R. Many times the "lender" didn't know because it was deemed to be a Sunday sled and today was Tuesday.

Next day was really fun because everyone was in for a rescue mission because you never know when it would be your turn and the smack talk was very one sided that day lol. Build one of those Indian things (two sticks and a superslider) at the parking lot and lash your triple garbage bagged motor on the back of your buddies sled and double in on another (you walk when needed lol). It is amazing how much s##t you can hear on the back of a sled with the older helmets.
Usually you got dropped off at your sled, did your own digging, did your own R and R, lashed up the Indian thing and motor while everyone else took off (after cutting up the hill above you lol) and had fun.
When everyone returned (you had to wait to get round three or four of the smack talk, it was good manners and let them cut up the hill above you again), you had the next bit of fun to look forward to, the ride back. Pulling a stick thing behind you with a motor dropped in by eye meant a few belt changes on the way. So again you were on your own but this time the rest would stay in sight so they could come by and offer verbal advise before they cut up the hill above you.
I've seen the same thing on National Geographic many times.

We tried the 2 or 3 even 4 sleds tied together thing a few times but in the end the motor swap way was cheaper than buying belts for everyone.

Helicopters (to my knowledge) were never used until 4 strokes came out of the closet. I mean those things were around on the trails but some wierdos decided to bring that dependability lol to the mountains. Those things were boats, long heavy boats, and you need a pretty good buddy or three to do an R and R.
So you put 20 or 30 or more grand into a sled. It pops big time in a hole. You pull your Sat phone out (that was a "thing" for a while too) and make a call and a new type of fun was invented.

Heli lifts is a fad IMO. The first guy who did it should get royalties. It's like a "badge of courage" today.
So IMO I do not think Polaris or any other brand would add to their sales with a "lift ticket" at snow check. I just think this fad like all others will just disappear eventually.

That's just one man's opinion but I've never owned a four-stroke sled.

Remove BigDouche, er, ah I mean "BigMan" from the forums for good and delete this thread. No one on this forum makes me this incredibly angry that I can't use profanity besides him. I PM'd him a little while ago to put him in his place and shut up about whatever he was crying over. He never has a response anytime I call him out or confront him. Real loser. Real jackasss. Real frickin annoying.

Ban him, please. He offers nothing but drama here

I must say I had no idea you looked up to me that much. I will try and watch what I say so I don't push you over the edge...

Responses like this tell me you're only purpose here is to stir the pot. Meaningless bullcrap thread with few, and brief responses from you because after your initial idea for starting drama is laid out in your opening post you run out of witty things to say to others. That makes your posts more aggregating because you don't even start the drama with anything intelligent to say, just outlandish requests like free heli rides for a broken down sled. It's never anything constructive, and your responses are usually just crap you come up with to keep people's strings wound tight, never any reasoning or justification for the sh*t that you let roll out of your mouth. You're either incredibly immature or incredibly bored, you probably don't even own a sled now and you're mad so you just poke at us on here and try to bring us down to make yourself feel better.

 Actually I really am sitting here eating popcorn. :face-icon-small-hap

I don't get why everyone gets so bent on these post. If you are that mad don't post. If nobody posts it will go away. Give it back and have fun with it. It doesn't have to get snotty. Everyone should take their brand loyal blinders off and chill out a little. Heck, I like snowmobilers posts about as much as anything. All 4 have a decent sled for next year. Even yamaha if turboed. It is comical how snowmobilers get so offended in a hurry. You could have a bunch of dirtbikes or four wheelers together and not much is said. I am just glad everyone rides different stuff. Way more fun unless someone is wound too tight. Years ago we had tables and chairs flying in the rancher at west over arctic cat vs. polaris. Cleared a packed bar and people were about to go to jail. It was fun but a pretty stupid thing to go to jail over. One guy was wound too tight and then things really escalated.

I just get mad when someone starts something like this and then practically ducks out of the thread because they can't think of anything new or clever to say. It creates unnecessary clutter on the forum. I'm not brand loyal, I'm just sticking up for snowmobiling. I realize there may be a string of bad luck with a sled someday and I accept that. I don't get on here and cry about every incident I've ever had and act like I'm entitled to free stuff because of it. I conduct my business like a decent human being and because of that I have nothing but nice things to say about my sled/atv dealers, clothing dealers I purchase from, etc..... A lot of people just aren't naturally inclined to be decent and this forum can many times be an outlet for them to rant and rave and run companies down. There's a thread in the Polaris Turbo section like it now, another in the trucks and trailers section that got dug up from 2011, and those are the bad ones I can think of off the top of my head. A lot of people also seem to think that because they shell out the cash to buy a snowmobile that the dealer they purchased it from must bend over backwards for them every step of the way. It's like, so many people can't handle disappointment without starting a smear campaign against those who they feel wronged them.

I see there are a few who appear to dislike when I post. I don't like just sitting back and watching the ignorance spread. It's hard to listen to stupid things being said without putting those behind it in check. I'll play this game, but the initiators usually take their ball and run home before it's over. Don't like it? Don't start it then.
