The private establishment can just ask you to leave if they feel you are carrying, and if you dont im pretty sure you would just get a trespassing fine. So i wouldn't let them stop you. Just saying.

I care beacause an innocent 6 year old was put in a situation that a 6 year old never should have been & lost her life because of it.
I say KILL this joker, there is no need for a trial.
But it was also irresponsible for a parent to have a 6year old out at that time of night.

I'd have to confirm but we heard that a 3 month old was at the movie. I felt the same way, why would you be so irresponsible to take a young child (infant in this case) to a movie after midnight? It's not their fault that some idiot went psycho, but they were still irresponsible parents.

I have to disagree with you here. I don't see how it is irresponsible for a parent to take a kid to a movie. It is summer time and the kid is more than likely on summer break. If the kid is into the Batman movies why not take them to a midnight premiere? Kids are supposed to have fun during their summer break, isn't it all about what you experience in life? If they had nothing going on the next day and the kid could rest all day, why not go to the late showing?

The 6 year old was not put into a situation by her parents to lose her life. I 100% guarantee that if they had known a whack job crazy was going to shoot up the joint they wouldn't have went to see the movie. I am more disturbed that a 6 yr old kid was killed in this rampage than anything. It isn't right that she lost her life but I wouldn't have thought twice about taking my kids into a movie theater regardless of the time of day. It is real easy to look back and say what should have happened. Hindsight is 20/20.

I certainly have not lived by that, but I do have to agree with it.

Just my thought but I would bet there were some concealed weapon carriers in that theatre. But it would have been very irresponsible for any of them to start shooting at the gunman. There probably would have been more injuries or deaths if someone would have started returning fire. And very likely that person woiuld have hit innocents in the process. A concealed weapon is only good if you are willing to use it and most aren't. And then it is only good if you are John Wayne or Wyatt Earp and are willing to use it and can out draw the guy who already has his gun pointed at you, but then again that only happens in movies.

Nothing wrong with a 6-year old in that theater. Sure it is a PG-13 movie, so the kid didn't get in without a parent there. The 4-month old was probably asleep.

About concealed carry... if it is like our local theater, you are not allowed to carry in there. Even if you could, it would be a tough shot to make in a dark room with tear gas, movie playing, people running everywhere, probably 800 people in there. Plus the coward had on body armor. Shooting would have been better than nothing, if you hit him it might have slowed him down and saved one person's life but chances are he would target you. Him having armor certainly gives him a major advantage.


The guy would have found a way to do this, gun or no gun.
