Sad Day for Aurora, CO.

Now Colorado has two massacres on record with this and Columbine. Sick people in this world. The stories I'm hearing from witnesses on the news is horrific. This is the reason I conceal carry. You never know when you might need it.
 
Very sad situation. I hate to sounds selfish but I can't help but think how this fuels the anti-gun movement. I'm with CO 2.0, the more law abiding citizens with guns the less likely you would see actions like this carried out.

Next part is this guy will be in prison forever. No death penalty because we are too soft of a society. But we will feed him and provide entertainment because we must treat prisoners like humans and provide certain rights. Sad, sad.
 
SO HORRIBLE AND SO SAD!!!! I hope noboby else dies from their injuries. I heard there were a couple of servicemen in there too. Probably not armed.

What did the shooter use for a weapon?

Not saying it would prevent this or that you'd gaurantee yourself a chance...but that's why it can't hurt to have a CCW permit. You just never know....





(As a SMALL side note....why did a parent have their 3mo old baby at a midnight showing of an action movie? I can think of a few reasons why I wouldn't have...sleeping schedule, practicality, the NOISE)

Sure wish there had been a few upstanding citizens there that were carrying. Might have saved several people's lives!
 
What a freaking wacko!

This shooting will polarize the armed vs. unarmed society topic for awhile. I thought about this shooting a lot today as I live 20 min. from the theater. Listening to some interviews on the radio today, I am not sure a ccp could have stopped this wacko. It sounded like the smoke was thick and people were confused and trying to seek cover while the gunman was shooting anyone trying to leave the theater. If you were in this situation, how do you pull the trigger if you can't clearly identify your target with supreme confidence that you wouldn't shoot someone crossing your line? The interviews I heard today made it sound like pandaemonium in the theater last night.

Before anyone gets defensive, I am all for ccp. It definitely wouldn't have hurt to have a sidearm or two in that theater last night. Maybe someone could have placed a nice shot and saved innocent lives. I am not one to side with the crowd that says less guns = a safer society. I think this act was completely senseless and the reason I struggle with this cowards behavior is that I can't bring myself to stoop to his level to think like him. In a weird sort of way, I am glad he didn't kill himself. There are a ton of questions to be answered and he has the answers. Now that he has a lawyer all that has gone to waste. Hopefully karma bites this jerk right in his a$$. I am not sure karma is that evil though.
 
You are right that a CCP'd person might not have helped the situation. My point is that situations like this might not even occur if people realize that cannot simply "bully" anyone at will.
 
In Fort Collins there are two places that I have been to besides the obvious that I know you can't carry at:
-Cinamark 16 movie theater
-Jared Jewlery store

Obvious: courthouse, airport, federal building.


Guy was in full body armor. Kill shot in that environment would be tough to say the least.

It might have been tough with the body armor and smoke. If there is someone or more then one shooting back, more lives might have been saved. If these looser knew that maybe every person in here might have a gun, they might not even try it. I myself pack and if the government would let us go where ever, we would not have the trouble we do. The law cannot be everywhere all the time, that's were we come into the fight against criminal's.

It isn't the government keeping you from carrying anywhere. It is PRIVATE businesses deciding what they want going on in their establishments.
