Rush 800 at Dynotech

I would rather have a 140 hp sled that doesn't burn down than a 154 hp sled that does... but with that they should have keept the 700 around, best motor that poo has ever made

I hate to say this, but:
I have run a dyno, and have things to think about....50 degree air YUK..what was the ring seal like...if the sled was run in a not so clean environment several HP could drop because of ring seal...this was very prevalent on the older 700 RMK motors and they were what made Polaris snowmobiles....do we know what the diff is from RUSH to RMK air box, fuel map and timing...what if anything is the same as what production will be...

I like and respect Jim at Dynotech....but this has clouded the issues...It may be what we get, but it may not...Sometimes things get lost in being one of the first to fondle and provide NEWS about a new product..people may be reading into Jim's info wrong too....

I have also based my decision to buy one on the consumers comments that rode them....not propaganda from the mother company...In the real world they ran great..swung some good clutch too...many of them had experience with mod sleds as well as other brand newer sleds...I valued their opinions and respect their knowledge...

We could cry and go into the conspiracy therories, or work with what appears to be most of what we have been asking for...nothing is ever perfect....Thanks to Polaris for many steps in the right direction...:face-icon-small-coo

After being lucky enough to ride one of the new Pro-RMK's, I could care less about the Dyno numbers. If it had the same powerplant as my Cuisinart blender I would STILL buy it. Easily the best handling, most maneuverable, mountain sled I have ever ridden. It felt like it had more power than my single piped 09, especially at the top end. People get so wrapped up in numbers, it's comical. I honestly believe that IF this motor proves to be reliable, it is a game changing snowmobile. People will be able to do things on this sled that they couldn't do on others, which I think is the true test of a MOUNTAIN snowmobile.

I rode the PRO-RMK today as well as a 2010 M8. I would say that the M8 has more power than the Pro, but the Pro is no slouch either.

Some guys lined up for a couple of pulls, unfortunately the M8 was no longer around, but they lined up the Pro, an XP that I don't know anything about and an Edge Mod sled with an 800 xcr triple putting out somewhere around 175-180 with a 174 x 16 track. Conditions were heavy slushy spring snow. Here are the results.

The 2010 800R is 150 hp (from my testing)...the Pro got the hole shot in both races and the XP caught it mid+ hill...thats all I have...please continue...BJ

BTW- HP leader/loser I would buy this sled...

NUMBERS SOUND TO LOW TO ME THINK ILL STICK WITH THE HORSES IVE GOT OR FST WITH A MODED TURBO I LIKE HP GO BIG OR STAY ON THE TRAIL.

A snowcheck should really include a PCV with Jim's map!!!

To be honest the 2011 motor is based on the same architecture as the older sleds so I doubt there is going to be or will be any great hp gains. Polaris probably figured it was easier to shed 30lbs instead of finding 10-15hp.

I am just surprised to see so many guys dropping their turbo sleds to get one of these.

The new motor is mostly different from the 08-10' 800's actually. Which is a good thing since it is now a rock solid (yet underpowered) mill.

The 143hp rating shouldn't be scaring people away from this thing in my mind at all. This just means that for all of us who like to mod and tinker we have a sled that will stomp on everything else when we squeeze a little more power out of it with the pcv and a pipe, not to mention a TURBO!
