Rush 800 at Dynotech

Fawk 140hp is a pretty HUGE disappointment! Makes me think the 155" would be the way to go with that power, not the 163:face-icon-small-dis

What a big pile of poo poo . Poo Poo just made my day with those enormous HP #s. I guess you don't need 160 Hp beacuse the chassis and clutching will make up for it. I Hope.:hurt::hurt:

My 125HP IQR beats 140 HP sleds all day,HP isnt always the key ingredient to get in front of the rest. I was expecting a little more power out of this new 800 though.

Yep I'm thinking that the new stock pipe is the most likely HP robbing culprit here. So maybe add a proper single pipe with stock muffler and you may be at 160plus like the stock Cat and SkiDoo 800twins that get little, squat, or negative HP from aftermarket pipes as you have seen on my website. I can't wait to try a BMP pipe mod that worked so dandily on the Dragon 800s. Maybe you won't even need a PCV, but we won't know for sure until we get our cold air dyno airfeed system (expecting 0 to 20 deg F intake air in summertime). Let the Rush 800 pipe wars begin! That's where I have the most fun.

If that's the case, why not be pleased if, for a few hundred bucks, you can have, say, 15hp more than your pals with bone stock Rush800's?
Ok Polaris get to work on this pipe and give us what we deserve.
Thanks,Jim for all your time and info

OUCH those numbers are a kick in the nads!! I like the looks of the new pro ride but was hoping for the HP numbers to be more comparable to the new cat and doo not more comparable to my 03 escape. One more thing as someone else said, WHY would poo allow a dyno test before snow check ends???? Well I guess for those who buy it now know what they are getting.

I'll hold off judgement until the production sleds ship. I rode all 3 800s for a couple of days and you could throw a blanket over them they were that close. As the saying goes, "I haven't ever been beat by a dyno".

Let's see what the production sleds end up being before we jump off the building... that goes for Doo and Polaris... it would be a shame for the 164hp Doo owners to get beat by the 140hp Polaris owners and want to jump off a cliff.

Bench racing, gotta love it... but I've got riding to do.

twenty less horse than the cat, thats a ton, thats even less power than the 08-10 800. Good thing the rest of the sled is supposed to rock, Im putting 5 down on a 155 in turbo silver tomorrow

Did the cat dyno at 20hp more on the same dyno, same weather, same atmospheric pressure, same day? ALL variables the same?

Dyno's can be tweeked. I know a crayon that beat a dyno once.

It would be interesting to hear from those that have rode this thing as to if they feel the power is similar to a 700. Is that not what a 700 has for HP?

I rode the 2011 RMKs. They were STRONG!!!! Stronger than the 2010 Dragons. Stronger than the 2010 m8. Stronger than the 2010 XP 800. I've ridden those two.

@50 degrees F, 2011 preproduction 800 stock makes
143.2hp and 92.9lb-ft @8100RPM
After PCV tuning for max HP
150.2hp and 95.1lb-ft @8300RPM
But the 2011 800 had 10 more hp @7000 RPM than the 2010s so power through the midrange is improved...
All according to the report posted on DynoTech

Maybe this is why they flushed the 700. They only need one motor that makes 140hp:face-icon-small-fro

Proof that DTR is in bed with BMP! But no one on here that I know of runs it.

just got off the phone with polaris they won't discuss hp #'s i wonder why?rep tries to write it off *** track horsepower, never seen pic of sled spinning track on dyno?i want to buy one but not if i have to mod it and void my warranty or even worse replace all parts back to stock everytime you bring to dealer.polaris won't respond this is a problem.

try calling jack struthers at carls cycle..I am told he ran the 11 sled against one of his dialed 860's and the 11 out performed it...

What a great open door for the haters. That's ok, except I bet you won't be around to eat crow if the 2011 RMK is strong, will you?

I find the power numbers interesting, because the 2011 sleds we ran were pulling the same clutch set up we put in our SLP single piped 08-10 Dragons. Also the 2011's were geared at 20/41, which is way to high, and still pulled 8100-8250 all day long in deep powder climbing. I may work for a Polaris dealer, so I may be biased, but I think anyone else who has ACTUALLY RIDDEN one of these will tell you they run much better than last year's sleds, and much better than one would think 142 hp would do. We also had Dragons on hand to compare with, and it wasn't even close.....Not saying that the dyno was wrong, but unless same day, same conditions are tested back to back with different motors, noone can say for sure how much more power one engine makes over another. Also, as we all know, one sled can be a dog and another a champion even though they are the exact same machine with the exact same set-up. Possibly this Rush was just a sick puppy. Just my 2 cents and feel free to flame away :face-icon-small-hap

C'mon Jim...

Are you sure???

A dialed 860 from Carls cranks out the HP.... Been on one... And had some very good saddle time on the new sleds...I doub't it would even be close... Jack does not have to meet EPA considerations which is the BIG (huge) hoop that Polaris needs to jump through.

Outperformed? What does that mean? Out sidehilled, out drag raced??

Jacks "dialed" 860's have everything on them... Holz front with Carls custom valved Float R's, Alpha X rear (a more refined version of what is in the PRO) and lots of other tricks.

Granted, on the 2011, the Steering is more precise and the sled sidehills better because it doesn't drag fenders on the hill... It is probably lighter than the Dragon but to say that it outperforms a dialed 860 in context of a thread that is talking about HP numbers... HMMM???

Did you talk to Jack about this?
