Rush 800 at Dynotech

C'mon Jim...

Are you sure???

A dialed 860 from Carls cranks out the HP.... Been on one... And had some very good saddle time on the new sleds...I doub't it would even be close... Jack does not have to meet EPA considerations which is the BIG (huge) hoop that Polaris needs to jump through.

Outperformed? What does that mean? Out sidehilled, out drag raced??

thats what I was told by the owner of the 860..rode with jack and polaris...call jack and ask him I know you know him.....they said the 11 shocked everyone....I too am shocked, and I find it hard to believe.....

Say what you want about DTR but his info has been dead nuts with the IQ 800. I did not believe the initial HP rating of the Dragon 800 but at the end of the day Jim was correct. I hope he is wrong because I have until tomorrow to snow check one or wait it out another year.

This is so funny. Sure hp matters. But at the end of the day, it's the mark on the hill or 1st to the top. Last week we had a chance to ride with 2 2011 etec 800, 1 shorty (120) and the hill climb edition ltd. Also along was a 2010 m8 and a 2009 dragon that was bone stock other than a can. All 3 mtn sleds were 15x tracks. Line them up on a long steep glacier face climb. Each time the dragon 8 pull the holeshot, and thru the mid. The etec ALMOST caught the dragon before they crested out. The m8 was last each run. The 2010 m8's are an impressive sled. Therefore the etec is quite strong as well. But I have yet to hear from anyone that thinks the 2011 pro 8's are not stronger than their current 8's including the dragons which out pulled the new etec. This is going to be a long summer til we all get to test them out on the only "dyno" that really matters.... The backcountry!

called poo this afternoon no one would talk about hp #'s was told to contact dealer, dealer has no info says call rep o.k. still waiting for call nick. i would love to put some money down on a new pro but something smells.if 143 hp is not the # what is it polaris 154 hp?where are you? I don't want to hear how it feels i want #'s.24 hours left still time to change my mind any reps out there want to try?

Just read this on doo talk

Dealer just forwarded me email. Poo 800 made 143.2 on same dyno 800 etec made 163.9.
It was a 2011 800 Rush dealer demo fleet vehicle with 1700 miles on it. They were able to get it up to 150.2 with power comander tuning. The Dragon's have typically been 4 or 5 horsepower higher then the Rush.

any truth?looking better

just got off the phone with polaris they won't discuss hp #'s i wonder why?rep tries to write it off *** track horsepower, never seen pic of sled spinning track on dyno?i want to buy one but not if i have to mod it and void my warranty or even worse replace all parts back to stock everytime you bring to dealer.polaris won't respond this is a problem.

Really? You are going to buy your sled based off of a dyno report? Then don't buy one.

Go research dynos a bit before you go worrying about what a dyno does or doesn't tell you.

Some of the best dyno numbers I ever saw were from PSI motors.

Does anyone know what the HP was at 7000 RPMs on the D8 and on the new 8? Jim said 10 more HP earlier in the thread but what are the actual numbers. What are other brands HP at similar RPMs? I do believe what he says but everyone has to keep in mind he is in it to make money as well.

Lets keep this thread going its a good one. I drag raced my friends 10 m8 153 with a can (mine, 09 rmk 800 144 pcv slp can) and we were at a dead heat from 20 to 90, I want my new(11 pro 155 silver) sled to float better, handle better and have the same amount of power or more than my 09 did. I dont think that is to much to ask out of a 12000 dollar machine I use four months of the year.

P.S. I am just happy I was at a dead heat with the almighty cat 800, usually I like to win but I was tickled pink to be in the same league as a 162+ horse sled.

o yeah well my sled is faster and has more hp than yours hehehehahaha wow cant belive it well this is what there saying and that is what he said if u worried then wait a year and see what happens if not party all summer cause its gonna be a long one

really? yes.
Polaris is trying to sell more sleds by not publishing #'s knowing it would hurt sales.Polaris knows the #,I read 154 hp somewhere, isn't this a whole new motor?last year #'s 147ish this year nobody knows.what do they say fool me once blah blah. The big four will mislead to sell product and the lack of responce from polaris makes me think twice. All i want is 154hp and i'll write the check.163 i'll buy two

The lack of response is because of lawyers, haven't you seen the pending lawsuit ads on tv about lawnmower hp. It will result in no power advertised for anything.
Gotta love those lawyers, anything for a buck

Well, I am not to worried about stock HP..if it don't run good enough, i will pipe it ....hmmm kind of like every other sled I have ever owned...lol..I would rather have to throw a pipe on, than redesign the whole chassis...we have a good idea what kind of performance a piped 800 makes...HP/WEIGHT and efficiency...thats what it is about...:face-icon-small-hap

I second that. It is what it is boyz....the Polaris is not as powerful as the others period. I didn't want to believe it also. Jim know his stuff, he dynoed both and them's the results. Polaris has a good runner, its just a little less powerful than the rest. I know, I've got one....with a PV5 its a good runner, but still down compared to the rest. Same thing happened to me with my Polaris 700 they said 140 it was a lot less....Polaris strikes again...why don't you think they won't publish HP #'s, trust me, if they were even close to the others, the numbers would be all over thier site. They won't publish them cause they are not close....Jeeeze I've got to quit typing I'm bumming myself out.

I rode the PRO-RMK today as well as a 2010 M8. I would say that the M8 has more power than the Pro, but the Pro is no slouch either.

Some guys lined up for a couple of pulls, unfortunately the M8 was no longer around, but they lined up the Pro, an XP that I don't know anything about and an Edge Mod sled with an 800 xcr triple putting out somewhere around 175-180 with a 174 x 16 track. Conditions were heavy slushy spring snow. Here are the results.

Dear Diarrhea,
Almost all the sleds out there are pretty good...lets ride together and have FUN..if it gets to be the drama that some try to make it THEY can stay home..lol :face-icon-small-hap The prior video proves it...

I snowchecked a Pro-R 800 and I belong to DTR. When I read Jim's report I dam near crapped my pants. Today I went to my dealer and canceled my Pro-R and got my $500 back and went to a Doo dealer and bought a MXZ-X 800 E-Tec.

seems like i'm not the only one concerned
