Rush 800 at Dynotech

How do you know it's a non epa sled ? From all the talk the reps have said these were the same sleds as will be delivered in the fall.........

will we have them before snowcheck?

You have 2 days. If it is 154 hp, will you snow check? If it is 151 will you? At what point will you say no to snow checking because of an independent test in the flat lands (I live a little higher)?

Agreed. Alittle clutching/setup goes alot farther up a hill or through the deep than a few hp does. I am a poo guy all the way, but you have to be impressed by what a little ol' m6 can do! They will give alot of mod 8's fits if they are not spot on! Give me the complete package and forget what the dyno says.

@50 degrees F, 2011 preproduction 800 stock makes
143.2hp and 92.9lb-ft @8100RPM
After PCV tuning for max HP
150.2hp and 95.1lb-ft @8300RPM
But the 2011 800 had 10 more hp @7000 RPM than the 2010s so power through the midrange is improved...
All according to the report posted on DynoTech

twenty less horse than the cat, thats a ton, thats even less power than the 08-10 800. Good thing the rest of the sled is supposed to rock, Im putting 5 down on a 155 in turbo silver tomorrow

well as long as the sled runs good and have above the 140 mark..

Yep I'm thinking that the new stock pipe is the most likely HP robbing culprit here. So maybe add a proper single pipe with stock muffler and you may be at 160plus like the stock Cat and SkiDoo 800twins that get little, squat, or negative HP from aftermarket pipes as you have seen on my website. I can't wait to try a BMP pipe mod that worked so dandily on the Dragon 800s. Maybe you won't even need a PCV, but we won't know for sure until we get our cold air dyno airfeed system (expecting 0 to 20 deg F intake air in summertime). Let the Rush 800 pipe wars begin! That's where I have the most fun.

If that's the case, why not be pleased if, for a few hundred bucks, you can have, say, 15hp more than your pals with bone stock Rush800's?

Why would manufactures leave that much on the table? Are emission impacted that much vs. power with pipe design?

Thanks Jim for getting on here and confirming your findings. Now lets hope the aftermarket crowd can find those missing ponies over the summer!

A few hundred bucks and 15 hp to get you close to the other 800 stockers.........oh yeah, and now that sweet a$$ 4 year warranty is voided. This thing better be the most "flickable" sled out there.

2 questions: 1. Why did Polaris let this motor be dynoed before snowcheck was over? Is the engine dept. that dense?
2. I see the words "pre-production". Is this different than what we will see in the fall?

Jesus C****t Polaris, wtf is wrong with you, anybody who has a 2011 800 snowchecked or thinking about it, I don't feel one bit sorry for you. There's more than enough proof out there that Polaris just isn't getting it when it comes to offering a decent big bore, what an embarassment. :face-icon-small-con
