Premium Membership worth $$?

Dude, you're obviously monitoring this thread, so...what say you on the 3-year to lifetime membership deal?

My first post, the one you "liked", was an honest question. A lot of us original Snowesters have stuck around and paid the price that you figured was a good deal...how bout we get the good deal in return for being loyal customers?
I haven't replied back to you because I don't have an answer for you yet.

The Lifetime membership is something NEW.
it was NOT part of the original plan.
Not two years ago.
Not last year.
Wasn't even part of this year's plan.!

It just cropped up.

I do not know that there will be any special upgrade path for currently existing premium members. I simply don't have an answer right now.

Other than the fact that they ARE digital and not paper, what is it about them that you find so intolerable??

How could we better present the digital editions to you??

Wish I knew the answer exactly, and I'll bet you do too.

I, like many people, prefer paper copies as you can see by the results of this poll you started.

How to make a computer screen as appealing as a 8.5x11 glossy magazine for the masses? I wish you would spend some Snowest earnings on it and find out for me :face-icon-small-sho :)

On that note, serious question: Does Snowest donate to SAWS or BRC or any of the non profits?

15 dollars a year is well worth every bit of information posted on here this site has been great since day one and i will continue paying the 15 dollar fee

thanks snowest

I have no idea if SnoWest does or does not.

Here we go...
Let me see if I can phrase my question a little better.

Do you know if any of the money we spend on our premium memberships goes to SAWS, BRC, or one of the non profits that help the sport?

If some of that money is contributed it would help to support paying for the premium membership in these discussions.

was the offer to donate only during the initial premium membership buy in phase?

well......

i definitely just upgraded to premium....

knowing what i know.. which isnt hard to know...

i just like to let it be known what i know...

ive posted this before on a thread that got deleted a bit ago....

i had used the $30 for 3 year scenario.

this time i will use the 15 dollar for 1 year scenario, as that is what i just paid, as i want to see what one year is like before i go ahead and pay for another year. oh wait... i knew what it was like when it was free, so i guess i want to experience the missed qualities of the once free website to see if i will miss it again once my year is up...

so im pretty sure i read on here somewhere that there were over 100,000 members of snowest when it was free.

remember, it use to be free, and even recently.... more like... today... i heard from a moderator some fishy stories, and reasons to a non fishy question... but anyway...

lets say... each one of these upgraders paid just the $15 for the 1 year.

if 1,000 people upgraded to premuim, thats $15,000 in profit. that pays for a new sled.

if 5,000 people upgraded to premuim, thats $75,000 in profit. that pays for a new sled, a turbo, some other mods, home remodel, and a nice down payment on a nice car.

if 10,000 people upgraded to premium, thats $150,000 in profit. that pays for a new sled, house remodel, new car, and maybe even a down payment on a new house.

if 20,000 people upgraded to premium, thats $300,000 in profit. well... i could do alot with $300,000...

what about 100,000 members? $1,500,000 in profit.

now... i dont know the numbers of who paid the 1, 2, or 3 year membership... but.... thats some pretty good numbers being produced from a once free website... ! :)

oh, and i also paid the $15 cause i was always annoyed i could no longer read a whole thread.

Sorry Guys.

SnoWest is the MAGAZINE.

SnoWestOnline is the forums.

I honestly do NOT know if SnoWest is making any donations or not to those organizations. If they do, my guess is that it is in the forum of advertorial in the magazine.

SnoWestOnline did run a promotion where we donated a portion of all the premium memberships to a variety of organizations as chosen by the members at the time of their upgrade.

It costs a few bucks to host a site, to maintain the site.
cant be a pure profit deal.
15 a year is a fair price, ive saved thousands wrenching myself thanks to the forums.
