Premium Membership worth $$?

It's not just about the $15... They don't understand why the owners feel the need to charge an extra $15 when they already make lots of money off the advertising.
Who said that? I think the only time I see that is when people like you state someone said it.... I have yet to hear someone state that and actually be serious about it.

Maybe he was being sarcastic, but the point remains: There are a lot of people upset (or at least really irritated) about the issue on both sides of it.
Personally, I can see both sides of the issue. I did pay because there was some benefit to it, but there certainly are other sources of free (advertisement supported) information out there.
It just sucks that the issue tends to divide the community...

is there somethng wrong with someone finding a way to make extra money? who are we to say they are already making enough. i would rather see them do this than to sit around and expect tax payers and the government to take care of them. more power to the man for making a living. he is not forcing anyone to spend 15 dollars just my opinion

I think it was worth it. I get a lot of info from here. I am a member on the other site as well, joined right away, to not be a part of both is dumb in my opinion. I do not use the social parts of either, I read the digi copies of the mags here, but I also buy them, can't sit on the crapper with my computer ya know?

It seems like the people that keep saying how divided everything is are the ones that are creating the division. You find what you seek. If you look for division, you will most certainly find it!

i remember when i came back to snowest after a couple years i got a bunch of **** for not being a premium member... some in a disrespectful way...
after work i stopped by Bj's Restaraunt to have a few beers, i had 3, total was in fact $15, and in realizing so, i remembered my $15 dollar membership to snowest and thought id better come educate myself a little bit. then on the way home i stopped at arco, spent another 15 bucks, got myself an 18 pack.

His joke about not riding with basic members was not the crux of the argument...
As for trying to make it seem like I'm the one "creating the division", that's just silly, read back through all the previous statements in this thread. I'm simply making an observation about what people said, if you can't tell from the other posts that there are two sides to this issue and that people are divided, I don't know what else to tell you. That's my perception of the issue, if you don't see it that way, that's ok too.

all it really takes to understand certain things is a little common sense, and a lot of people fail to use common sense to figure stuff out.
trying to pick things apart in such detail does nothing more but direct the attention off into another argument. especially on a discussion forum.
i paid, i think its worth it, theres huge profit involved for the people/person receiving these payments. thats okay though, its business.
the only reason i say i think its worth it, is because its what you have to do in order to be able to read these threads, and receive potentially helpful information.
it did use to be free, and the people higher up ran the website just fine with funding from these advertisements...
but yeah. thats what it is.
i doubt they'd change back to a free site.... theres too much money comin in for them to do so....
