Premium Membership worth $$?

Think about it this way, as a basic member and a subscriber to Snowest magazine I am subsidizing your free online subscription to the mag.
As far as Premium membership goes I don't see any benefits for me.

if you think about what you spend on gas oil and belts in a year this is a drop of water in the barrel. Suport snowest because they suport your sport and with out people like them we lose all our sledding grounds to wilderness. It is a place that can get us all united on the same front which make us harder to stop.

The technical expertise you gain from all the sled heads on here is almost priceless. Purchase the three year deal and it's only ten bucks a year. I spend that on lunch everyday. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was complete b.s. when this started, but by not having to purchase the magazine now and getting it on line is worth it. The info that others provide in the threads can save you a lot of money and help you make informed decisions on future purchases. Well worth the money if you ask me.

All of that used to be free and still is to a degree.
Why would I pay to share my knowledge? It doesn't make sense to me.
That's what the banners and FYI threads pay for.
I'll pop by and check out the classifieds but for tech info look for me at BCR or S&M.

The numbers may tell a different story. This site has lost a bunch of great folks that are on the other sites now and both those sites continue to grow.
I guess it depends on what you find good on here.
The ONLY thing that this site has going for it now is the classifieds...and they are free, go figure.

You forgot to add the fact that you can actually look at snowest for more than five minutes, cause it doesn't look like a g*d Dam 4 year old built the site unlike backcountryrebels. I could build a more aesthetically pleasing site when I was in junior high. Just my opinion tho.

Yea $15 is worth it for that. I already get the magazine... Wish my subscription to the mag counted for something on this site too... Has there been more sessions like this klim one or is this the 1st really benificial webinar?

I disagree....there are great discussions and Q&A daily in all of the manufacturer forums here....much more so than BCR. Classifieds, truck/trailer discussion section is good, performance always busy, etc. BCR has the edge in off-topic discussion, but that's not for everyone. There was definetly a large social club that left when Snowest started charging....but it never affected the sections directly related to sled info, IMO.

Thats called a PRIVATE SOCIAL GROUP which any Premium Member is welcome to start and manage them self.

I honestly think the aftermarket sponsorship that this site gets gives it the edge over the others. I just want this question to be honestly answered and I'm sold... I wasn't tryin to rag on the cost or anything I just want to know that I'm payin for more than an avitar ya know? That's all... Webinars and info sessions are big but just straight forum talk seems to be just fine in the free basic member package at least for me...

hmmm, you obviously havent been logged on for a while.
For a site thats just over year old , it has quite a few tech articals.
Of course the social aspect is one of the biggest attractions to that site.
Who wouldnt want to have fun with the folks you ride with?
Last years BCR ride was down your way in Castlegar. You have some great riding around there and the people were fantastic.
Back to the question at hand ; is SW worth paying for? not for me!

One benefit that is not listed is that there is reduced Advertising for Premium Members.
Premiums have the same level of advertising as there was when the site was "free".
That for me was worth buying the Lifetime Membership.

As you already know:

The whole TRUTH about Discounted Printed Magazine Subscriptions for Premium members that I was referring to is that the discount on them is a ONE TIME DEAL at the time you upgrade and after that you are outta luck if you want the magazines in print at any discount as a Premuim Member.

I am pretty sure that wasn't brought up yet anywhere in this thread or advertisements so it would be good to get out to those who are considering paying.

Thats not exactly some kind of a secret.
Most magazines offer a killer deal on the first subscription for New Subscribers.

So far as I know that's pretty much standard operating procedure for the ENTIRE magazine industry.

Your words are "Hidden" and "Secret", not mine so don't imply they were used in my posts about this.

How is the entire magazine industry linked to paying for a Premium Membership on Snowest Forums?

What you are failing to point out or possibly do not understand is that if you pay for the Premium Membership and do not elect to take advantage of the PRINTED version at that one time offer it is no longer available at any discount even if you did not ever subscribe!

So by being a paid premium member and not signing up immediately you forfeit you opportunity to become a "New Subscriber" to the Printed version of these magazines because you receive the online versions whether you want to or not, see what I mean?

So should a guy let his Premium Membership Expire in order to be eligible for any discount on a subscription to the Printed versions and be a premium member?
Keeping in mind no printed subscription was ever signed up for in the first place...

This Forum is Awesome, but this magazine policy sucks and it would be helpful to know how this works so you don't miss the ONE time opportunity (as it stands now) to receive any discounts on the three specific magazines in Print form that are associated with the Snowest forum Premium Membership.
So I'm helping to get it out there as it is right on topic on this thread.
