Post the Non-Ethanol Gas Stations

snowest article this month...

....check out the article in this month's snowest....a discussion with Yamaha and the effects of ethanol....it's a good write up. I definitely think that we should all shop at the non-ethanol stations, and do our best to shut out the others...even if the fuel is a little more expensive....:first:

I believe the government is subsidising farmers to grow corn for ethanol and then forcing consumers to buy it at the gas station. Making ethanol with corn is terribly ineficcent. part of obamas "green" energy plan lol.

Most new sleds have a ethanol wire to enrich the mixture when running ethanol gas. Anything carbureted should probably jet up 1 or 2 main jet sizes.

Now the EPA is already trying to push it to 15% check this out: http://www.snowest.com/snowmobile-news/display.cfm?ID=2552

I drove all over Bountiful today finally found the Sinclair at 285 west 500 south. Looked at ALL the pumps and couldn't find any stickers for ethanol but decided to ask anyway. Guy didn't speak very good English but I thinkwe finally communicated so I'm 87% sure they are ethanol free!!

Ever check the labels on your food? Walk down any grocery store isle and check the labels. Everything's made from corn. Why the hell are the corn farmers subsidised? Can't wait for a big storm or tornado season to hit the cornbelt, then watch our gas prices go through the roof.

We're all being bent over a barrel on this one, and I don't swing that way!!

The Shell on Bengal Blvd is ethanol free. It is just east of Brighton High School. Got my gas there this morning.

obviously i was not talking about the corn we eat duh. I am talking about making ethanol for automotive fuel from corn and how ineficcent it is. it takes a tremendous amount of wasted energy to get ethanol from corn. Sugar cane is by far the best source for ethanol, not corn. but most of our ethanol is produced from corn anyway

Um, I was agreeing with you. Look at Mtn. Dew, 2nd ingredient is high fructose CORN syrup. Wouldn't it be easier to just use sugar cane for that too? I laugh at the "throw back mtn dew, made with REAL sugar".

I agree 100% our fuel shouldn't be made with subsidized corn. Like I said earlier, wait til there's a shortage or drought, none of us will be able to afford gas.

Update. I filled up the sleds ($100) at the 33rd South Sinclair from my original post again. The owner came out and asked If I was there because of the non-ethanol fuel and if I heard about it on "a web page" :face-icon-small-hap. He said he has seen quite a few sledders getting gas there recently....nice. Anyhow, he said he will keep non-ethanol into the spring but also said he will eventually have to change to compete because ethanol is $.10 cheaper a gallon for him to buy.

So far I have had pretty good luck with Tesoro's being Ethanol free everyone I have hit has not had stickers. Spanish Forks is good to go for you Spanish Fork peeps.

Make sure each time you guys get fuel there, you go in and buy some snacks, also make it a point to tell him that you will pay 10 cents more. Stop and get fuel in your car there, etc.

Bitter sweet

Does anyone know what's up with the gas stations in Kamas? I often fill up in Kamas on the way to the Uinta's.

I fueled up the old stroker the other night and walked around the pumps at the Smith's market Place in Bountiful and didn't see any stickers there.

I have noticed that just because the stickers are not on the pumps does not mean the fuel is clean. Make sure you ask the manager, I have and several stations have stated they are in the process of putting stickers on the pumps that do not identify the 10% ethanol content.

Asked at Smith's 12st in Ogden, GM Said NO Ethanal in there gas and the guy that signs for gas deliveries also backed it up with a big NO.
Also in the Valley I am checking.......
