The Exxon on 2700 North in Farr West (ogden) says on its gas sign "ethanol Free"
I believe the government is subsidising farmers to grow corn for ethanol and then forcing consumers to buy it at the gas station. Making ethanol with corn is terribly ineficcent. part of obamas "green" energy plan lol.
Most new sleds have a ethanol wire to enrich the mixture when running ethanol gas. Anything carbureted should probably jet up 1 or 2 main jet sizes.
Now the EPA is already trying to push it to 15% check this out: http://www.snowest.com/snowmobile-news/display.cfm?ID=2552
Ever check the labels on your food? Walk down any grocery store isle and check the labels. Everything's made from corn. Why the hell are the corn farmers subsidised? Can't wait for a big storm or tornado season to hit the cornbelt, then watch our gas prices go through the roof.
We're all being bent over a barrel on this one, and I don't swing that way!!
obviously i was not talking about the corn we eat duh. I am talking about making ethanol for automotive fuel from corn and how ineficcent it is. it takes a tremendous amount of wasted energy to get ethanol from corn. Sugar cane is by far the best source for ethanol, not corn. but most of our ethanol is produced from corn anyway
Update. I filled up the sleds ($100) at the 33rd South Sinclair from my original post again. The owner came out and asked If I was there because of the non-ethanol fuel and if I heard about it on "a web page" . He said he has seen quite a few sledders getting gas there recently....nice. Anyhow, he said he will keep non-ethanol into the spring but also said he will eventually have to change to compete because ethanol is $.10 cheaper a gallon for him to buy.

Does anyone know what's up with the gas stations in Kamas? I often fill up in Kamas on the way to the Uinta's.
