Geometry.......
Xp is a converted trail sled.......
G4 is a converted trail sled.........
Both are a wide horse saddle.
Iq is a bathtub.
Axys is light and nimble. Skinny where it counts.....
Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember the axys name first being on trail sleds. If that's the case then the axys is also a converted trail chassis. And no the G4 isn't a wide sled. I've been on one and it feels as skinny as the axys. It also requires less effort to ride than the axys. And it's light and nimble. So to say it's a wide saddle just isn't true. But I ride both brands so I couldn't care less which one other people think is better. I just find it funny when people say the G4 is just a glorified xp. Nothing could be further from the truth.

You're correct. Truth is the G4 is a glorified XM, The XM was a glorified XP, That's the truth.

How is the Doo different from the Polaris? Steering geometry, front end geometry, bar ergos, width of tunnel, running board design, tunnel design, skid design, suspension components and brand, width of track translating to width of...everything the track is attached to. That's some of it. I care more about how it feels than the bits tho...to be honest. They're all the same basic idea just like most vehicles, houses, yada yada. Is one more an adapted trail sled than another? I dunno about that. The Doo is definetly more bandaid'd up from the poor handling XP's of 2008-2011 ish, but that is years ago and the handling is much improved since then. The biggest deficiencies to pol at this time would be - no coil over rear skid, flexy running boards, wide track, and not sure if they've fixed the tendency to want to turn uphill on sidehill. But they are a good machine these days and cat as well .
So basically the only thing that makes it a "bandaided trail sled" is the fact that it has a coil over skid... Pretty much everything else is either due to a wider track (tunnel width, track width, skid parts due to width and tunnel design) or has basically the same thing/ a different brand of the same thing (Pyrimidal front end, different brand of shocks and skis)...
The g4 trail and summit use the same trail sled steering.
The same style torsion spring suspension. (One has a wobble)
Same spindles and suspension geometry up front..
All the above are vastly different between the axys trail and the rmk.
Because they have different purposes......
Heck even cat/yami use different steering/suspension for trail sleds vs mtn sleds......
Is that so hard to grasp?
So the steering on these is the same?
The mtn sleds have a taller spindle and it sits at a shallower angle.
Different overstructure, chaincase, brake setup, driveshaft and jackshaft.
Different purpose and purpose built.
Cat and yami do the same with steering posts and suspension.
Torsion springs are better on the trail.....

So tell me. Is the rush a mountain specific sled now? Blows your argument away pretty quickly.

A question I have. Who decided that a vertical post means it's a mountain specific chassis?
Not the same spindles, that small change in geometry plays a huge role in handling on the hill!Indeed it is hard to grasp.. The only thing different from axys trail vs axys rmk is the beavertail technology, vs whatever youd like to call the rmk's. The RMK amd the Trail sleds appear to have the same spindle and pretty much the same geometry, save the forged arms vs the glued arms in the trail. Steering of the two both appear to be the same as well.. Heres a couple pics :

RMK
I dont see a clear difference that would matter or make a giant difference. So right now all that it sounds like to me is what makes the summit a converted trail sled is the torsion springs... Also the claim that "they arent the same, because they have different purposes" irks me a little, because what you said is true for Doo.. The MXZ is purposefully a trail sled, while the Summit is purposfully a mountain sled, so that makes them different. The tmotion and flexedge track is a selling point on summits that I personally love and cant see riding without it..
Edit: Ill worry about the cat/yami later... Plus this is a polaris section and I think others would rather see doo vs poo in the poo section
