I have three race clutches and have have them on two turbo sleds.. Impuse kit has been running over 8 lbs all year and ran flawlessly with toms arms.. It hard to go away to something else when you have success and light weight :eyebrows:

The 850 clutch taper is diff...

You need a RS600 Pdrive clutch to run on a etec 8...

Hey fred, check your scale...the RS TRA clutch is not 4 lbs lighter than std tra7 (both forged, ring gear 1 lb, mov sheave less than 1, machined fixed less than 1, same size and same moving parts) unless your scale shows 14 lbs or less on a stocker??-:face-icon-small-win

IMHO and scale the Pdrive is 1 lb lighter than LW TRA-BJ

Not sure John, my scale is just a cheap old Walmart cooking scale, it only goes to 13lbs.. But I just ran out to the shop and put the stock 15 primary that came with the turbo sled fully loaded..

First picture is 9 lbs 10 ounces and second picture is 5 lbs 10 ounces for a stock primary weight of around 15.5 lbs with ring gear..

My race primary's are machined, titanium fastners, and toms arms and weights:present:

Run #3 (blue is as sled was set up w/ TRA clutch
Run # 6 (red, is with PDrive and initial setup.

Very nice Tom, from the looks of the graph the new P drive should solve a few track speed issues around that 35-40 mph mark. And higher mph as well. Nice info!!

For a cross-brand comparison... I weighed my Polaris stock P-85 primary, non Electric start (no ring gear)... loaded with spring and 64g weights... 9lbs 7oz. (4.28kg).

A LW cover, Ti bolts/pins and Ti spring would bring that into the mid 8 lb range.

Has anyone weighed a new Summit pDrive (with clicker style flyweights and spring)?

What is the outside sheave diameter of a pDrive and/or TRA?

significant increase , hopefully that equals higher track speeds on the slopes.

It was significant. In actual head to head testing the new P Drive clutch setup pulled the holeshot, and gradually walked away from the other test sled. Both 2016 model Freeride 154" sleds. Both studded type RMSHA tracks.
To date the P Drive has offered better top end speed then anything we have been able to offer from the TRA setups.

That's a 13 percent gain to track hp with the pdrive over stock tra.. Pretty decent gain forsure.. How hard will it be to dial the pdrive in tom on a turbo setup.. Almost a 25 hp gain on a 200hp sled is pretty bigggggggg...
