its' so hard to tell if how much the PC V helped as I haven't been able to compare it to another stock D8 yet.
I can't get my Auto Tune to show what it trims off of my map. I need to check all my wiring and make sure it every wire is pluged in the right hole.
My sled runs soooooo good though. It's awesome.
The sequence that works for me is:
1. Hook up a laptop and "Get Map" from the PC.
2. Enable autotune from the toolbar which then adds two more tables to the map file. They will be the Target AFR and Trim Table.
3. Fill in all the Target AFR values in the cells and save the map set.
4. Send this map set to the PC V with "Send Map".
5. Go run around for 20-40 minutes making sure you spend enough time at WOT.
6. Shut the engine off and reconnect the laptop.
7. Hit "Get Map" to retrieve the map set from the PC V and view the trim table; make sure that some values have changed.
8. Save this map set.
9. Now go up to the tool bar and go into Map Tools and select "Accept all Trims." The trims are now translated into the base map and the trim table is cleared. Nothing has changed in the PC V so if you mess this up, just hit "Get Map" again and start Step 7 over .
9. Hit "Send Map" to load the trimmed map back into the PC V and save the map with a new file name.
10. Uncheck the "Enable Autotune" box in the Power Commander Tools>Configure>Autotune.
It's pretty interesting comparing the trim table with the target AFR table - there are a few spots that are richened like crazy like 40% and 6500 rpms.
Ride it like you stole it.
Notes:
The Autotune Trims will change with clutching so if you change things around it would make sense to make another map.
The airbox vibrates a bunch and my temp sensor wire came out of the PC V and the CAN connector for the LCD backs out of my WB 2 (Autotune) box. I'll be remounting both onto the electrical center cover.
