Yup, sounds like the sharp end of the stick! Just keep daydreaming of waist deep white meadows and endless climbs \m/

My project for this week coming: rear springs and maybe ball joints in my Ford F250... of course I'll sneak out for some biking in there somewhere too!

i finsihed up the orange powder coating on my KTM. came out pretty nice..had to replace my side shields cause they were beat and faded, but i like these ones alot more anyways..

Well........... it's not quite time yet, but I just dragged my dirt bike into my workshop (basement) to start working on it. After the Revy 900 ride I'll probably get 2 - 3 spring rides in, local riding is almost shot for the year.... I'll have spare time to start on bike stuff. I usually get to start riding the bike by mid to late April. so it's really not that far off.

On the list for this year:
-Crank seals (started sucking in trans oil late last year)
-Fresh top end
-Hoping to change out the fussy Mikuni carb for a Keihin Air Striker
-head pipe spacer for broader power curve
-Swing arm bearing kit
-Replace bent rads
-FMF Gnarly pipe for more low end torque
-Yearly frame polishing
-New plastic

And just the regular maint. / cleanup. She gets ridden hard, so I'll go through everything. I'm slowly converting this MX'er to a woods bike so there's lots of other stuff on the long term list, just watching for bargains...
-steering dampener
-revalve suspension for woods / single track
-18" rear wheel
-trail porting
-Big bore kit

Anyone else starting to think about this stuff? lol

A couple hours later, and I now have the bike disassembled. A frame, an engine, and a box of parts.:face-icon-small-con Engine tear down and inspection is next. Feels good to get ahead of schedule... should have a shiny bike ready to fly before the snow melts.

You seem to be pretty quick at tearing apart your toys, lol:beer;:face-icon-small-sho

Yup, I know them well. Easy work.
This bike got parked late last summer because the clutch side crank seal started sucking in tranny oil, endlessly fouling plugs. So I knew a tear down was in order. I finished the year on my heavy beast of a CRF450 thumper.

I like to strip it to the frame every winter anyhow, so I can polish my frame for the upcoming season! Gotta make sure I have the baddest bike in town:face-icon-small-coo

Anybody ride Jet Skis???? I've got more than a few. A couple Kawasaki's (800cc X2, 750 X2, Freestyle 750sx, 550 PJS replica race ski) and a Polaris 1200 Genesis for the lady!

I WISH!!! My only local lake is full of sea-weed...anyone running a jet is constantly cleaning the intake grate and sometimes more lol

That sucks! I got into them cause they are fun and CHEAP!!! Well the beer drinking and tanning in the sun all day long are pretty appealing as well

Yeah they are a blast, I used to rent them alot on summer vacations. Some of the bigger ones they make these days are nuts.

I saw a vid some place where a guy was out riding his sled in the sand dunes - with wheels instead of skis of course. My first thought was how that sand will get into everything and anything and eat things up. Can you say new hi-fax and idlers????

I think they do that with the ADboivin ZX2 suspension, it doesn't have any hyfax.

All my parts for my CR250 are on the way, should have them by Friday.
-crank seals
-fresh piston / rings
-parts to rebuild my rear shock linkage and swingarm
-gaskets, seals, and other misc.

That will get it ready for the dirt, I would like to get a fresh plastic / graphics kit, and a few goodies to make it more enduro worthy: larger fuel tank, flywheel weight, and some other stuff. Once the sledding comes to a slow-down I can get onto this other stuff.

My CRF450 needs just a little love, still not sure what I am doing with this bike yet. I picked it up late last year for $1000, and from a little research I think I could sell it for $3000 - $40000 easily. There's maybe $100 to invest to get it in tip top shape.
