sure I can...see I am :)

I was asked to not post until the coating is done....typuical perfectionists...want things all purdy before people see it...

I respect that, and think it says a LOT about NW and the kit...

if we get mine put on thursday night, I will commit to giving you a ride report Friday night is that fair? and who knows maybe some video too? will that serve the place of teasing you now?

Can you video the install and email me the file? Also get good pics and send those also? I am the poor sap trying to get this installed before my trip Jan 2nd and with the new kit I am worried about getting it right. I am pumped to be getting boosted!! Hope all the parts get here in time! Travis has been great in trying to ensure I get everything in time.

Just finished install of the HCR power claw track. Hope it is worth the effort to get one. My sled sits stripped and waiting for more horsepower. Just have to get my Yoshi RS-5 exhaust welded to fit the exhaust manifold.

you will not be disappointed!!!! he is selling LOADS of kits!!!

I think he is driving to lewistown for some guys to deliver their kits!!! pretty incredible....

There is only one sled with the new tank installed....2 more will be installed saturday...then mine monday...

Pics will come soon..

I won't be able to have video of install till monday. I got delayed in seattle...and so travis asked if he could go help the two get installed...

I will get video up ASAP of mine monday...and will hopefully be ridin boost tuesday!!

Just received email my kit will ship Monday!!! I am pumped. Should be able to finish the install before my trip on Jan 2nd!!

Now I am hoping to find some clutching help.

Any ideas for 10psi boost?

What have others done with similar kits?

Otis

This thread really intrigued me until the post showing $5500.....that's right up there with all the others, for the most part, and the others are capable of so much more with a ton of R&D behind them. Price point is king in this economy.

Talk to Josh Lensing at the yamaha Dealership in Lewistown montana, He got me set up and it works great.

according to a turbo guru (hint, he is the only pro mountain factory rider) for 8-10 psi...go with 47 degree helix (which is the stock helix for an apex) and the weights for sea level (heel- 10.3 mid- 17.2 and toe 17.2)

that should get you in the ball park...

lots of people spend lots of money on tuning clutches and the shockwaves and stuff...and personally prefer to have things simple...which is the whole goal of this kit, and the more stock stuff we can re-use or not have to throw away, the better...

all just opinion on my part...but I prefer simple and easy...and when someone that KNOWS their stuff recommends something and it is an easy cheap fix, I am MORE than happy to try it...you should be able to get a take off helix from an apex for CHEAP...or spend a LOT on other stuff...

not sure the $5500 is accurate unless that is an installed price...

Since I am lazy and can't find the answer myself I will ask. I have the sea level clutch kit already with weights and rivets (plus top gear and chain that I purchased and never used). Can I just use these and get an apex helix? Sounds so simple. Primary and secondary springs from the altitude kit or sea level kit and what twist settings for those?

Thanks again.

your going to have to play wiht the twist or degrees based upon your situation and RPM's and elevation...top gear is a 19 right? you should not need to change the chain, with a 19 you should be more than fine...

secondary run the Yellow Silver Yellow...which is stock for elevation kits, not sure about sea level though...

Kit cost= $4500...

Someone mentioned something about $5500...that is not the price...

just validated this with Travis (owner) So, if someone paid more, it might have been a dealer install? or paying for kit plus some other things...

Awesome! Thanks MT!!

So MTdream ya got any install pics (or vids) for me yet! I hope my xmas present makes it on time so I have something to do next week.

Thanks for the clutching advice. I am trying to get a cheap apex helix. Looks like I might have to buck up and get a new one though.

I will post a couple pics tonight and some details...but am sitting in movie right now...

ok sports fans...here is the cast ceramic coated manifold ...

manifold.jpg

Some interesting factoids from Travis...

the manifold was designed in house, made from ductile iron, not cast iron. i ran this part thru finite element analysis using a load of 100 pounds. with that load, the safety factor was 76 to failure. we all know that the turbo doesn't weight 100 pounds, i just used that number thinking it could be possible for a rider/sled to experiece 5 G's on a hard jump landing. even at 5 G's the failure occured at 76 times that. pretty sure something else is going to give out first.

not sure I personally understand that but what I get out of it, is someone is putting some serious thought into what is making the parts for this kit...

Here is the turbo installed...

Sweet :D - I wonder if that header would fit (clear the jack shaft) the old vector mountain?
