New sleds and the poor riders that go with them.

Wow! I just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading through this thread!!!

X2.

Some of you guys whine like little girls.

I can understand the part about not wanting him to ride in the little area that your group was riding in at the time but on the other hand everyone has equal rights to ride the area. I personally wouldn't do that but really wouldn't care if someone else did(as long as they didn't highmark right above me where it could slide).

On a big hill everyone just needs to take turns, it's all part of being an adult. :beer;

i noticed around where i live in B.C. there are alot of ppl just getting into sledding and buying new sleds, then turboing them. i just thinks its funny when they dont have enough skill to even hold onto their sled, and i just like to see the look on there face when i out climb them on my 700

Come on, riding stock sleds isnt sufficient for all. Its actually pretty lame for some of us. Ya i had lots of fun on my phazer, then my 670, then my 800 then my 900 then back to an 800(but a lot lighter) Its a new year, new technology, and if you dropped 12000 on your sled id hope your out pitting it against people. Its no fun with no competetion. You may as well ride alone! Stopping in chatting though is a good idea just so your not the "brap" and leave guy.

ps, sounds like either a lot of *******s ride XPs or a lota people are *******s towards XPs haha

Some people just can't handle any competition.

They probably went out for choir in school instead of sports. LOL

Aug, I hate to say this but you're going to have to get used to it and accept it. By the time the next four years plays out you'll be sharing that same hill with possibly 40 or 50 other sledders not just a stray group of three or four competitive individuals. It's already happened where I ride. I get to share the same hill with roughly 60 sledders on a sunny winter day. The feds took 99,000 acres and left the sledders only 1,000 or so to play in. Personally I really enjoy the friendly competition, but I understand we are not all competitive by nature.

If you are attempting a hill climb and there is someone out there thats not in your group, you didn't go out far enough. Much akin to trail riders complaining about idiots in their lane, going too fast, etc. Frustration just takes me away to wherever other people aren't, either boondockin farther away or to trails that don't have a bar stop every mile. When you are cutting trail you don't have that problem.

Ya there are a lot of riders that just get a big sled and shouldnt. Its a lot different riding a bigger sled i just go into driving my brothers 800 or a 670 we bought from my old 500fan and there is a big difference but i wouldnt trade starting on a small sled even though it would off been nice to upgrade a lot sooner. But you just learn a lot and then when you upgrade you arent a hazard to everyone else. I do find the smaller 500 and even the 670 has a bit more fun then the 800 which just puts you wherever you wanna go. I challenge is great. But ppl should really lookinto starting on smaller sleds at least 600. You learn how to get yourslef unstuck how to read a situation, not kill anyone or b a ***. You realize on a smaller sled what others need to who jump on a big one. Its also fun cause everytime you upgrade you learn more and its almost like learning how to ride again but with knowing what your at. Go from a sit down small sled to a bigger stand up rider forward sled changes the gaem a bit but its fun to do and what makes sledding so great. Also you learn how to put the smaller sled into spots that others cant on that size sled you actuall manage to eventually get the skill where the sled candetermine when its time to stop cause it dont have the power to make it. With the bigger sleds the sled gets you so many places that you prob shouldnt be able to make with your skill level. And because of this you dont learn the same skills. Not saying these ppl are bad riders or anything cause you all gotta start somewhere and the whole thing is to learn to get better and beable to put your sled in crazyer spots. The day i cant learn any more is the day sledding loses its fun. And trust me there is alot to learn the pros still find stuff new so i sure we all can to. Its just ppl should get a sled for who they are not what they want to be and then they will eventuall get there and be better at that time. Here where I live to many kids get big 800 when they are 13 first you not big enough to hold on or throw that sled around but the reason yor stuck and i am coming up next to you to help pull you out is becasue you didnt know what to do in that situation. I not saying ppl dont screw up and get stuck or that you shouldnt ever unless its the sled casue you gotta screw up to learn but screwing up is easyier to fix on a smaller sled and until you get time enough in to minimise your screw ups and learn how to fix them or get out easier you should stick to that smaller sled. Also you gotta let new ppl come with you casue one big way to get better is follow the ppl better thn yuo it will seem like you screw up a lot at first but when you are the one in the lead with another bunch of ppl you will realize how all those **** ups helped you out. But ya and to say dont get into fights about sleddig we should all try to help each other out. I would liek to say cause ppl should know that The sport would be a better place if everyone just stopped and helped the guy that they see stuck or broke down even if it will take your time or its out of your way. Everyone should be friendly and help each other.

Last year we were playing on a long cornice area. We worked that area over for a couple hours and toward the end we saw some guys over on the next ridge watching us. We eventually climbed higher and they went over to where we'd been. We watched them p**syfoot around it, but they were afraid to climb it, and only their alpha male rider tried to jump it (where it was about a 2 or 3 foot drop.) A little later we were chillin right by the wilderness boundary and those guys headed toward us. They were all trying to ride all impressive and stuff, braaping their cans and doing their sweet XP wheelies. They didn't stop and say hi, but just congregated a ways off and then they watched their leader "outclimb" us. He proved his superiority by going past us into the wilderness area and "climbing" along a windpacked ridge that was about as steep as the parking lot.
So some guys were riding in the same area as you, watched you guys playing around while they were taking a break, hit up the area once you'd moved on because it looked like fun.....aaaand? They are jackasses because they're not as good as you guys (according to you) but are still out having a good time? Ya what arseholes....you show em son LOL

I guess I feel sorry for people that think they can buy fun, and then they're disappointed when people that don't bring $20K of equipment out to the mountain still have fun and sometimes outride them. So Aug, keep on keepin on and don't let those guys that invade your hill bother you. Try not to get run over by any dicks, and see if you can get a LEGIT highmark on that turbo M7 (I'm thinking that pulling one of his plugwires will do the trick.)

This is so entertaining comming from a flatlander. LOL

I'm going to have to remember that the next time I'm on the hill. Be the alpha male, braap my can, and pull some sweet XP wheelies LMFAO

".......Everyone should be friendly and help each other."

I agree.

Why'd you type all that other stuff?

snoughnut.

I highmarked a guy on a 162" M1000 earlier this year on my Stock 02 summit 800. Its not all about the sled, though it does help. Get into some technical stuff through the trees or where you are blazing your own trail to somewhere and the inexperience really shows through.

I'd rather be an idiot on a old sled who can halfway ride than an idiot on a new sled with no skillz.
