New nytro for 2010!

wow, what a joke. That price is retarded for the amount you have to put in it

Lol isn't my Tapex worth more now???:D
Over 17000 Cdn for the 2010 Crossover Apex, I got my fully modded Turbo Apex in the swap meet for that price!!

So with a 162, it's going to weiiiiiiiiiiiiigh ...... 570 pounds? :face-icon-small-dis

If Yamaha ever produced a 150hp 4-stroke sled that was under 530 pounds I would buy one.

I'm not buying a 600+ pound sled. Period.

What a let down. Was hoping for a stock SC or stock turbo or bigger mill. 130 ponies just doesn't cut it with such a heavy sled. Here is hoping for bigger things in 2011. Maybe one should just switch to the competition?

All there doing is inflating the price of the 2010's to get rid of the old inventory. In other words they want you to think your getting screaming deal on a 08 or 09. Very disappointing .

But you bought a 900 rmk that weighs the same as a nytro stock?

But you bought a 900 rmk that weighs the same as a nytro stock?

Dry weight on a 2006 900 RMK 151" was 539-lbs according to Polaris.

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspecs/563/1/specs.aspx

2009 Nytro is 553-lbs.

So with a 162 as opposed to a 153, wouldn't that add ~15-lbs or so?

I am not trying to bash Yamaha at all here, in fact quite the opposite. The last Yamaha I owned took 26 years to break. I don't think you can beat Yamaha for reliability or quality. I own a 2007 YFZ450, and I'll probalby have a 2006 WR450 here before too much longer ..

But I just can't get over how much those sleds weigh. Yes, my 900 was a TANK before I lightenend it up a little bit, but even after lightening that Nytro up it's still a 530+ pound sled, isn't it? At least unless you spend bookoo bucks on them ...

I don't know, like I said, I would LOVE to buy a Yamaha but I want a sled I can throw around at least as well as my 900 is right now ...

Can I do that with an Apex? How much would a T-Nytro realistically cost me to build?

No need to buy a new sled.. take a look at the swapmeet TNytro ez ryde 162 boondocker turbo 390 miles 16 k or best offer!!! now thats a deal!!

Clarify...

It is alot, I do agree, but then again they are all alot.
To clarify, some of you didnt read far enough to see the weight they did drop and the totally different rear suspension system. 5lbs off the exhaust. 2lbs off the NEW track. 10 lbs off the rear suspension. 18 degree track angle, which is 25% less angle than previous years. Rear suspension is totally new, semi-coupled with full floats2 shock package. And the 153 model in the SE package dropped 21 lbs total! That puts the 153 model at 530 or so. Remember the fourstroke mileage is good so it only holds 7 gals gas, so wet its pretty darn close.....they are coming along. I do agree it would be cool to see 150 horse out of this sled from the factory....and they are listening to the consumers, look at the rear suspension changes, new front suspension angles.
Every manufacture leaves stuff out, I guess thats to leave room for next year differences? At least its a great platform for a supercharger or turbo.
By the way the 900 RMK weighed over 600 lbs out of the crate.....how much to lighten that? And it turns out people love it! LOL Weve all been there done that.
INFLATiON SUCKS!

Couldn't agree more!!!!

Joke!

I gotta tell you - that black Nytro is by far the best looking sled I've ever seen!! I'd buy it in a heart beat if it wasn't only 130hp pushing that much weight. Everybody has seen these stock Nytros on the hills - they just can't compete (if anyone thinks they can, they obviusly don't ride much or just ride trails and fields!)...So $12,600 + 5k on a turbo or supercharger = $17,000+ NO THANKS!! Come on Yamaha, get it together. I was expecting big things from them this year. Guess I'll stick with the lighter weight unreliable 2 stroke.

ACCORDING to Polaris being the key word. +atleast 50lbs for the real weight. Polaris lost weight every year according to them and until the Dragon came out their sleds were still as heavy as the 96 Ultra.

I dunno, Sawyer had his under 500 pounds ..... Don't think he could have done that without completley gutting the thing which I don't think he ever did.
