New Motor Fist Gear...AWESOME!!!

If you blow the transmission on your truck do you expect Ford, Chevy, whoever, to take a new truck off the show room floor and give it to you, no questions asked?

You're goddamned right I do.:beer; If I blow that tranny under warranty and it doesn't look EXACTLY like it did before it blew, I will drive it up their *** and open the doors and back out. I don't want my clothing scabbed together with patches. If it is lifetime warranty and they have to rip out every stitch to get it back to the way it was they had better do it. It would probably be more cost effective it they replaced the whole garment tho.

HAHAHAHA...... If you think a dealership is going to give you a brand new truck because your truck breaks down you are out of your fawking mind.... Dont get me wrong here. If my new truck breaks down, Im going to be pissed and would want them to do that.. BUT ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

MOTORFIST WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL OF THEIR WARRANTY CLAIMS, THE ONES THEY WILL GET ANYWAY.. I HAVE BEEN WEARING THIS GEAR ALL WINTER AND I WILL BE THE FIRST TO SAY THAT IT IS THE STRONGEST MOST DURABLE COAT AND BIBS I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT IS ALSO THE WARMEST GEAR I HAVE EVER WORN. MOTORFIST GEAR IS HEAR AND HEAR TO STAY. NOT TO MANY PEOPLE WILL GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY THIS GEAR OUT THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE LIMITED NUMBER THAT THEY ORDERED FOR THE YEAR. BUT THE PEOPLE THAT WILL GET TO USE IT THIS WINTER WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.

Two rekon jackets and one pair of motorfist bibs in my group so far. Absolutely no complaints. I would think that by the end of the season that number should triple. Everbody who looks at it is impressed.

I'm just at 6' and 230-240 lbs...got a 2xl jacket and xl bib....i wear a chest protector,(thor impact rig) under the jacket and it fits fine.....got to use the MFs and the stoutness of the material really made a difference bashin thru the trees as to what branches felt like when hitting my arms, no hard pokes to me, no rips in the clothes....MF sets a new standard of field toughness....least from my bars.

i agree, the sizes are larger and built bigger. The robust-build leaves no worries while thrashing the trees. I always felt like i was 1 branch away from shreading my kl*m bibs. I dont sweat scuffs and rubs anymore, great product.

sold!

I got some of this MotorFist gear and it is awesome. Warm and dry all day!

Got to ride in the bibs and coat last weekend, I am VERY impressed! Dry, warm, and very tough! I prefer Motorfist to my Klim and HMK gear. Overall a better fit and finish. What blows me away the most is the price....$619.00 for the Motorfist, (320 bibs, 299 coat) compared to $820 for the Klim(419.99 coat, 399.99 bibs). As well built and tough as the Motorfist is, Klim better go back to the drawing board, re design their gear, and drop the price.

So for $200.00 you gave up Gore-Tex and went with a waterproof membrane that may last a year if your lucky. The outer layer is so thick and stiff it's like riding in a Kevlar suit. I've had suits like that back in the 70's

Did you know Klim use to make gear out of these same materials before they found better technology. I'm certain Klim is so far ahead in experience and technology they will continue to own the drawing board for many years. Where MotorFist is, Klim once was and where Klim is MotorFist will need Gore-Tex and experience to become.

I wish MotorFist the best, and will buy some of their products because I like to see new companies be successful, but I have no illusions about the fact that they are 15 years behind in experience, and will obviously make many of the same mistakes Klim made on the way.

Perhaps you didn't know, but the patent on Gore-tex ran out. Same waterproofness, same breathability, 200 bucks cheaper, better looks....yah, that's a no-brainer to me.

....as far as the "stiff" fabric....riding through the trees last weekend, I was glad to have the "kevlar" on me.

....I own and ride both the Klim and Motorfist, and this is my observation between the two....have you ridden in both? What are YOU basing your observations on??

....would you be saying the same thing if Motorfist had a "Name Brand" fabric? Like E-vent?

As far as the stiffness...I thought the same thing the first time I wore it. After the 2nd day or so rockin this stuff...I LOVE IT.

Is it better than Klim? Perhaps. It certainly is not inferior, and at the price I'm sold. It has some really cool things. Like the offset zipper. That is awesome!

I can't wait to see what they come out with in the future.

There is only 1 name brand waterproof membrane...Gore-Tex. Every other membrane made today is a clone of Gore-Tex. eVent is similar to what Gore-Tex was 20 years ago. A loose membrane that breaths well ( better than Gore-Tex ) but as Gore found out is not durable enough to maintain it's waterproof properties when pulled, stretched, bent, or stressed. Gore was decades ahead of the competition in both the process of making it's membrane, and how to seal it so that the seams were capable of holding up to the same stress when their patent expired. No other membrane on the market today has even come close to achieving the waterproof capabilities along with long term effectiveness of Gore-Tex. That's why you still have to pay $200.00 more for the same basic gear if you want Gore-Tex. I'm sure Klim would use eVent (which they once did ) and sell for less if they could provide the same product, which they found out the hard way they couldn't. So would Simms, Sitka, North Face, Patagonia, Danner, Cloudveil, etc. Klim about went broke trying to warranty and guarantee clone membranes before they realized the only way to produce the product they wanted to produce was to go to the expense and jump through the extremely complicated process of earning the right to be the exclusive Gore-Tex sponsored snowmobile clothing manufacture. A match made in heaven, both own the drawing boards in their field of expertise with little threat of anyone catching up anytime soon.

It's will be interesting to see if 2 or 3 years from now MotorFist gear is still holding out the water. Or, if they will be in the same boat Klim was in when they were using the same basic clone membrane. It's to early to tell because most of the clone membranes are effective for a year or so. If anyone did figure out how to make a product that would really compete with Gore-Tex I would expect somebody like Cabelas to pick it up first. They have been trying for years to find a membrane that they could use to compete with Gore, but last I heard even Dick Cabela himself said there was not a product that could do so. For now, I'll spend the extra $200.00 bucks and bet on Gore + Klim.

I don't have to ride in both, I rode in the old Klim gear, and as I stated "as MotorFist is Klim once was." What I mean by this is Klim use to use the same basic clone membrane as well as the same heavy cordura outer layer. They upgraded for a reason I'm sure MotorFist will soon discover. And style????? I'm not sure we can give either manufacture any points for style can we? Both pretty basic looking stuff. I think both companies are smart enough to avoid the age groups who are more concerned with style than they are with function. Remember Tobe tried the style thing.

Recommend Motorfist

I bought the Motor Fist gear in November and I havn't missed a weekend of riding since then. I have been dry and warm. I do ride with the zipper vents opened up on the jacket. Overall very happy with the product. I have some wear and had a small tear which I repaired with some good liquid tear repair. Had a knee seam start to unstitch and hit it with the same stuff. The inner seam was still fine and frankly seeing what the running board did to my body thru the clothing I am surprised it was not torn . I have not worn Klim clothing to compare but I am real happy with the gear. I wear two thin layers underneath the bibs and two with tekvest under the top. Usually drop the second top layer first break in the morning. I would recommend the product,it has worked well for me. I am wearing Klim boots and gloves ,don't seem to clash to bad. I would ditch both brands tomorrow for a quality product that said made in America by Americans!! I hate giving big bucks for sweatshop in China products KLIM AND MOTORFIST ARE YOU LISTENING How about bringing some jobs home?? :face-icon-small-hap

Funny to see some one talk so much about klims experience. You do realize the owners of MF are the same people that got KLIM of the ground?

Everyone says nothing can compete with KLIM cause of the goretex. It makes me laugh. I have 3 seasons on a TOBE jacket that isn't goretex and after 30 plus days a winter, many over the hood days, it looks brand new and it has never "leaked" one time. There is stuff out there every bit as good as KLIM. But thankfully for the owners of KLIM there are guys like you out there that won't believe that anything could ever compete with the special K.
