New Motor Fist Gear...AWESOME!!!

.

the company has 2 products. throw in a couple of upset klim customers and all of a sudden klim is no good and a product that nobody has even heard of until now is the second coming.

I have run klim for almost 5 years now. no problems, good warranty. I am on my third season on my tog gloves with about 10 rides per year. they work just fine. and even still, riders are hard on gloves, who knows what the issues are. all you hear are glove complaints, not much for jacket boots or bibs. So base your entire opinion on a company that refuses to warranty a 50 dollar pair of gloves you may have worn 1 time or 100 times. how do they know.

you like the new stuff? great, but dont claim a brand new product as a replacement for something that has been supported by our community for so long. trying it on in your garage and claiming "the best fit ever, cant wait for the snow..." ya right.

just another example of going way too far to one side when somebody's mommy makes you go to bed without supper. you get a couple of disgruntled people talking about an issue they are having and then get some bandwagoner on another product to swoop in and claim it as the second coming of the snow god. unreal...

How could you read those posts and come to this conclusion?

Wow man. Someone must have whizzed in your Frosted Flakes.

Put it this way. I know the people involved and they wouldn't settle for second best at the price point they're selling this at.

"It had that Klim feel of thick durable fabrics, High quality stitching, great zippers and zippers seam," KLIM gear I'VE HAD THREE DIFFERENT ZIPS go bad on 3 dif inversion jackets in one yr. freeride pants 3 rides hole in knee from rubbing fuel tank, boots that fall apart & leak 1/2 season, GLOVES Work, I'm in the gear every day, as I guide in the west of WY. yes pro deal, but asked to pay $50 to repair the pants after 3 days of work!!!

If the membrane works....why the need to double up on the seat?

You beat me to it. One layer of Gore works, so why the need for 2. I have my doubts on their membrane. If it is so good, they should say what it is and how much better is than brand X. I saw a pair of bibs at Walmart that said waterproof and they only cost $29. You get what you pay for. Also, the warranty isn't worth nothing if it doesn't work. How would like to send your gear in during the season with snow piling up in the hills and all you have to wear is your Walmart gear.

Your bibs or pants will fail and leak eventually. No matter who it is that makes them.

So when it does you have a second wall of defense. That's the way I look at it.

The MotorFist website says 17000 waterproof and 10,000 breathable.

Interesting, everyone starts jumping on a guy that is amped up about his new gear
Maybe instead of bashing the guy, let him give his new stuff a chance and wait for him to come back and give a real world report of how it is.
I was in at the local Deal just yesterday and took a look at the new Motorfist gear, If I had the $ I would buy it. Knowing some history about who is behind it, which its not my place to post it that is the owners , I know this wouldn't be hitting the market if it wasn't Grade A Quality. Let the new guys have a chance. It's called capitalism and the people that benefit from new products is the consumers cause competions makes better products.

Kudos to Motorfist for taking a risk and trying to provide us with a good quality product.

There seems to be a tie between Motor Fist and Rexburg Motor Sports

My understanding is that the owner of both businesses are the same guy. I even heard he had something to do with Klim back in the beginning, but this I am not sure of.

I just got my stuff and it is notch. I too am a Klim lover, but thought I would give it a try...you know something a little different. It appears to be VERY quality stuff, but only time will tell.

From a business survivability stand point I don't see how MF will stay in business with a 106 year warranty. From a marketing stand point it is a very effective selling point. I wish them well. Their gear had better be very good if they are going to survive. Several years ago I would buy North Face gore-tex gear because I could not find any better gear to keep me dry. Then as more powder gear starting showing up on the market I tried different brands. I have yet to own powder gear that has worked as well as KLIM. At this point I have decided that KLIM is worth the money since all other gear has failed miserably in comparison. I have returned KLIM gear and they have replaced it as well. I am looking forward to seeing how the MF gear holds up this winter for the people "investing" in the company.

This is from the MotorFist web site:

The “lifetime warranty” for outerwear in “warranty speak” generally refers to that products’ "expected life”. If the product is used often, a 3 to 6 year use would be considered a “lifetime”. Most garments will begin to show their age and will not function as they should within this time frame. I guess you could say that outerwear may be “over the hill” in that 3-6 year period. Outerwear can’t last 106 years, but you do and we care about you!
If your jacket “dies”, we will still back you. We will recommend that you buy a new jacket or let your precious item RIP at the nearest Salvation Army. We may even try to persuade you to divorce your attachment to your cherished item. You may have to shed some tears.
If we can’t dissuade you and you would still prefer that we resurrect your worn out crusty item, we will do what we can to make it as functional possible. It may be ugly, but it will be done. A promise is a promise. MotorFist has your back. Even if your item wants to rest 6 feet under and you do not!
We are concerned about YOU and YOUR lifetime. We back you till the end of your life… or 106 years. Whichever comes first!
This warranty covers the product to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship. If the product ever fails due to a manufacturing or material defect, MotorFist will repair or replace it with like product at our discretion.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by neglect, abuse, accident, improper use or stupid human tricks on your part.
· Burns from (including but not limited to) exhaust pipes, campfires, Roman Candle wars, etc.
· Cuts from (including but not limited to) sharp objects on your sled, toddlers with scissors, domestic disputes, etc.
· Abuse from (including but not limited to) using as an absorbent cloth, using as a strap to tow a sled, using as a hammock, etc.

I hate smoke and mirrors, dishonesty, deception and jealousy.

Let me explain a TRUE lifetime warranty:

My Loomis Steelhead rod has a lifetime warranty. I bought the rod 25 years ago. When my dog chewed it in half I sent it in and they sent me a new rod. (The new updated version) When I slammed that one in my truck door I sent it back and they sent me a new rod. (The new updated version) When I cranked to hard on a 60 pd King and snapped the rod in half I sent it back and they sent me a new rod. (The new updated version) If I melt this one on the exhaust of my sled while trying to recover a bolt from the belly pan I will sent it back and they will sent me a new one. (It will be the new updated version) Never once have they even called me to ask how the rod got broke. Just grab a new one off the shelf, print a shipping label with my address on it and put it in the mail. That’s a TRUE lifetime warranty.

If I buy a MotroFist jacket with a TRUE lifetime warranty and I own it for 27 years and melt the front panel while sucking the BQ sauce out of my Hotdogger I expect to sent it back and if they can’t repair it to work as good as it did the day I bought it, and show no sign of ever being repaired I expect them to grab a new one off the shelf, print a shipping label and put it in the mail.

This warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on. I love the statement “we will do what we can to make it as functional possible” WTH, it won’t be waterproof, and it will look like it was repaired by the guy who lives under the bridge, but what they won’t be doing is sending you new gear. That is NOT a warranty. It may be good customer service, but it’s not a warranty.

Who cares??

The guy thats doing Motor Fist is Josh Skinner( I think), he's the same guy that was the US Distributor for TOBE stuff and hes the Alticity guy.: I think:confused:. I talked to him on the phone a couple of years ago when I was gonna buy a ToBe jacket.
IMO on clothing: I've always found that the breathabilty is harder to achieve then the waterproof rating (in the real world).
Also, Isnt clothing a personal taste deal: I mean some people like how something looks and other people dont (above and beyond whether it worth a sh*t).

When I cranked to hard on a 60 pd King and snapped the rod in half

Yet you still landed and weighed it? You sir, are an impressive hand liner  And to think I've had some great fights with puny 45lb kings on a 12 wt.

If you blow the transmission on your truck do you expect Ford, Chevy, whoever, to take a new truck off the show room floor and give it to you, no questions asked? Or would it be acceptable to you for them to have a trained mechanic replace just the transmission so your truck is functional again?

Whole lotta bench racing going on here considering no one has even ridden with this gear much less tried to have it warrantied. It's been proven Klim doesn't back their warranty, why don't we give these guys the benefit of the doubt until they fail to back theirs?

Thanks skidontlover for seeing what this thread was originally meant to be about. it was never intended to bash a company or say that one is better than another. simply stated in the original post was that the motorfist jacket looks great and the quality is the same as klim. klim boots, pants, and gloves are what you'll find in my riding bag. we all have our favorites and opinions, and me, like some others are trying a new product. simple as that. this season will tell all we need to know about motorfist gear. like chevy, let the best gear win!
