Stick a 45lb chunk of lead under your hood for a day, then tell me that.Weight is the most overrated feature in today's snowmobile world. Get your head out of the sand and learn how to ride.
I couldn't disagree with that statement more!!! I dropped 45lbs off my proclimb and it felt like a completely different sled.... thought it might of been in my head, let my other buddies ride it, they all agreed.Weight is the most overrated feature in today's snowmobile world. sno scoot?? really?? bahahaha.... lets compare apples to apples. my bro in law and I had the same sleds, mine had a headlight delete, belt drive and a can. so no really big performance, hp adders, belt drive a little bit... it was night and day to everyone who jumped from one to the other. those mods would be the difference of about 30ish lbs. it makes a difference!!! don't get me wrong, I love how I can pound on my cat and not worry about arms coming unglued or tunnel ext folding. I would rather it be that way, but to say weight doesn't matter..... go ride a t-apex or viper thru a super tech spot for 10 mins and you'll be done. Will it make a difference? Yes. Is it overrated?Yes. Everything taken into consideration...weight sales sleds....more then reliability, performance, handling, HP..etc. I have two sno scoots for my kids. They are light but you don't see adults out riding them in the mountains. Why? Because there is more to it then just weight.
"Placebo Effect" is a real thing (it has been proven) and I've seen it several time. You can put most people on a sled and say good things about it, like weight, hp, handling..etc. Psychological they think they're riding something good...this effects their opinion. Do the same thing but tell the them the bad things about the sled. What happens? Usually they're not impressed. That's life. "Placebo Effect" "Bias" is as real. We all know that....just read forums is my proof of that.

totally agree!!! i've done it, and it not even that "expensive" weight!Thing with the proclimb is there is a ton of weight to be lost WITHOUT sacrificing durability or reliability. Like a full 40lbs worth.
Looks like Cat has the sled to beat for 18! Hopefully they will have some out for demo's. Will make next season a long one for those of us who buy in the holdover world but would really like to try what I'll be riding in 2019
The only people that think that are those who ride heavy sleds.
. I would rather it be that way said:Easy, been there and done that all day. Do you need a sugar pill or burandt peanut butter? lol
