My sled doesn't suck after all!

After reading how much better the XM is over the XP,
And how much improved the T3 is,
And how much better the Axys is than the XM,
And how much better the G4 is than the Axys....
I had already accepted that riding my old XP would be about as fun as getting a root canal.

Much to my surprise, it wasn't under powered, started with the touch of a button every time, handled as I predicted and I wasn't teased for riding such an old piece of shet!
Sounds like I'm totally making this up, but it was even FUN!!!

It doesn't suck after all!

It's funny how all the critics seem to be the amature riders....I was once one who had an opinion to!
But the reality is that a polished veteran rider can make the best out of any sled! Sure the new ones are great & a piece of cake to ride....but throw me on my old 2010 Dragon & I'll enjoy my day as much as the next guy!
So long as your out ridin havin fun, that's all that counts! Enjoy what you have!!!

I don't ride to wreck, but when I do run out of talent, as I often do, I'm thankful knowing I won't be wrecking a $13K sled!

That been said, if someone comes along I'm always willing to sell and upgrade! :face-icon-small-win

No different now than 5 years ago or 25 years ago......longer for some of us, lol.
Every year, the new sleds are the best Thing since beer in a can and everything else is an under powered, ill handling piece of shet.
I'll admit there's great strides almost annually in the sled biz, yet somehow I can go have the time of my life on my "old" Pro, the wife's "antique" M7, even my kids prehistoric gen II 550 rmk.
Not to mention my now old 2011/2013 yz/timbersled.

I say keep up the banter, sells more machines, promotes the industry and gives those of us who can't affford, choose not to or are too cheap to buy the latest and greatest, a very nice lightly used selection of top notch machines!
Merry Christmas!

The forum needs to be taken with equal doses of time on the mountain. For me if it's too much reading and not enough riding then I think I need a turbo, new suspension, titanium bolts, etc, but what I actually is more riding time.
It's about fun. A decent rider can keep up and have tons of fun in 95% of the groups out there an almost any mountain sled made in the last 10-15 years. I ride with some fantastic riders. I am marginal at best. I don't do the things they do, but I can still get around with them.
I am glad the young guys I ride with look out after me much like I did the older guys I rode with 20 years ago.
Merry Christmas to all. It's snowing in Idaho!

Works like this for all forums. Used to have one guitar, one amp, and a music stand. Played all the time and learned stuff, then came forums and trading/trying new amps and guitars. All I ended up doing was fiddling with my new toys, and not actually playing guitar.

I agree with both sides of the argument, and have owned all the sleds you mentioned. A good rider can do some amazing things on an older sled, without a doubt. However, for most of us (the weekend warrior who works for a living and rides when possible) the newer sleds let us ride more and be way less fatigued at the end of each day.... they also inspire confidence. But the most important thing is to get out riding as much as you can, so don't blow all your cash on a sled if it will come at the expense of less riding time. Buy the best sled you can and ride it till your arms and legs say "uncle". :)
