My Muff Pot keeps stinking like tuna....

i'll make it easy for you. Give me the old one. I like a muffpot seasoned with years of use. I have found that older muffpots are pretty easy to get along with and are just happy to be used. Also there is virtually no struggle to get into a muffpot that has had its lid opened a few hundred times. A good ol' banged up muffpot doesn't care about being cleaned up and polished afterwards, it's just happy to go on a ride now and then.

So you can all send me your old muffpots, it don't matter to me. It's all silver inside right?
Hahahahaha

hahahahahahahahahaha !

Hmmmmmmmmmm. So, I did go out and get a newer, tighter, shinier muffpot! But I'm having a hard time getting rid of the old one! The old one has put out alot of good stuff in the last 3 years!!!!! I feel guilty for replacing her just because she isn't as tight as she once was.

The thought of keeping 2 crossed my mind. But really.......... who has the energy to keep 2 muffpots full?

Ultimately we have muffs for their function, not their shiny-ness, right? (see waffling between new and old muff)

And here's another question... is it wrong to take the pink lid off of the old girl and use it on the new girl?

You boys think you have delimas.............. ;)

 I'm speechless

This thread, once I started it, has OFFICIALLY went south. Like antartica south! I think EVERY base has benn covered. I think I will use my Hotdogger from now on. The Muffpot will NEVER look the same!!!!!!!!!!

A man should NEVER eat anything that comes out of a hotdogger unless....well....he's not a man, baby.

Very interesting thread...I can see the snow conditions are not the best. Maybe soo ther will be some more fluff to play in!

I think that it might be benificial to let the two muff pots hang out and merge parts from time to time. Just remember to keep up on your homework guys or the merger may be a total buy out!
If the two muff pots have some interchangable parts you have to be proactive and get involved..dont just sit on the sidelines.

I'm really not sure what has gone on in there, but uh........ even YOU might pass on the conditions! Silver is not quite the word that is coming to mind.... ;)

I've found that it is best to start out with a muffpot that has the lowest amount of use, new is preferred but lets be realistic, those are hard to come by and usually have too low of a serial #.;) It is worth waiting for the right one, you don't want to get one that will dry out your hotdog, mine is so good it actually seals in the moisture and plumps up my dog when it gets hot!
Be careful if you get the older muffpot, they are usually easier to pick up but you end up paying way more for them in by the time you refirbish them and add the bolt on's:face-icon-small-blu

My muffpot won't stay put. What shoud I do? I've tried tying it down, using clamps. Shoud I just screw it so it will stay where it belongs?
I have spent too much time trying to explain the best way to other guys, I get so frustrated, now I just wait till you are far enough away and screw your muffpot for you:eek::eek:

Damn muffpot! I have had the same issue. Yes tie it down, use clamps to punish that damn muffpot. When my muffpot bangs around like a lose free spirit I use a red rubber ball to get it to be quiet...ya know it muffles the noise. After using the red ball and that muffpot still wants to bang around....give it a nice slap....it will straighten up. At this point the muffpot is ready to be screwed so it will stay where it belongs. Does that help? :beer;

Anyone ever have any types of clams get near their muffpot?

What kind of clams Scott?

There are over 2000 types! Here are a few examples:

Quahog Clam, Littleneck Clam (much better than the bigneck), Cherrystone Clam (a nice clam for beginners), Pismo Clam, Butter Clams (when you need that butter taste and glide), Manila Clam, Razor Clam (beware...not a good experience), Geoduck Clam....these other clams mentioned I don't have any experience, but I am willing to experiment.

Do one of these clams ring a bell or do you mean your common variety muffpot clam? Muffpot clams are pretty tasty, but it can be hard to get the taste out of your mouth when you get a bad clam.
