I think its awesome Freak! I'm glad you discuss issues like this with her. I'm so tired of this BS about man made global warming. I yell at the TV every time that d**k from E.R. gets on talking about the polar bears and shows them floating on a little piece of ice. Maybe the bear chose to be there because he's hunting!!

What grade is she in? A kid in high school that can speak up against what's "popular" is way cooler than a 3rd grader repeating what her daddy says.

For all the global warming followers i have a question or two.
1. Why recently in the last month or so did it snow as far south as Houston Texas, with a 6 inch accumulation?
2. If global warming is fact, why has AK been in the middle of a extreme cold snap? Fairbanks/ Interior AK -40 to -50, Anchorage/South Central AK -20 to -30 for the last two weeks.
3. The theory of snow in the mountains being less each year. How did our Ski resort report 998 inches accumulation last season?

Much like the LEFT uses the theory of macro-evolution as an agenda to push constructive thinking out of schools. The LEFT is the reason our country is suffering. Their agenda's keep us so restrained that it's no wonder so many of our local manufacturing jobs are being sent to countries like China that could give a RIP about pollution, the environment, etc. (Ironically, the same LEFTist restrictions that push our jobs overseas cause MORE pollution than they would if we kept them here in our own country). I've been to China too - so don't give me some PC answer how they're so great. WE punish ourselves with stupid programs like the Kyoto Protocol and EPA BS that just makes the LEFT "feel" better about themselves. I'm all for taking care of the environment and respecting creation, but i'm not for bowing down and worshipping the environment nor am I OK with putting unnecessary restrictions on ourselves (totally based on THEORY) just to feel better when i sleep at night. These LEFTIES are the same people that would strap themselves to tree to save it, and then get an abortion the next day. Really??? I see the real agenda here - TOTAL SELFISHNESS BY THE LEFT.

She will be brought up to respect others, but to always stand up for what she thinks is right. She is welcome to always respectfully argue with my wife or I in our parenting as well. She might not get very far, but i will always listen to her. I'll teach her to stand up in school when they teach THEORY as fact too. I was taught this way my father, and i will teach my little girl the same way.

I try to always be open to information, opinions, and theories. I believe in global warming, and i've been living through one ungly coldsnap here in Alaska. Just because texas got snow or we are having a coldsnap, does not mean that global warming doesnt exist. The whole theory is based on an AVERAGE over time.

Read post at near bottom of page two. Any body catch climate shows on discovery? Saw one few months ago that stated there is GREEN vegetation UNDER the newly melted snow and ice on the north slope,,,,,,,,,, this was stated by a research team looking for any evidence of global climate change. What their findings were is that in truth the vegetation is growing under the snow and ice. Their concern is that when the ice melts it will release built up methane gas which by the way will add to the co/2 levels and they have no control over it. From my knowledge of past years of logging high in the mountains and finding palm leaves above 5000 ft. it's pretty safe to say that at some point in history there was some sort of tropical climate in the northern hemisphere. As far as whether or not we are adding too the global warming concern,,,ya we are but at the same time, how few are the volcano eruptions compared to history? If you listen to their arguments all they say is that man has added to climate change DUH!!!!!!!! The co/2 levels are far less worse than what the volcanoes spew into the atmosphere....

I guess the fact that SOME, not all glaciers around the world are receding only proves that we are not in the middle of an ice age.
These things, for the most part, were formed during our last ice age.
Do you expect them to stay forever after the ice age has passed?

I believe that this is just another natural cycle in the earths evolution.

I didn't do so well in school but haven't the glaciers been melting for thousands of years now? And aren't people on this planet just a blink of an eye to earths history? What enabled dinosaurs to inhabit the world and why did they disappear? What happens when the relationship of earth and the moon shifts a little bit? What keeps the earth from just flying away from the sun as the suns mass becomes smaller. Would the powers that be really tell us if our extinction were eminate?(sp)

Im feeling rather argumentative today so I feel like i should point out the fact that the Earth is getting warmer on average than the recent past, and thats just a fact. HOW or WHY it is warming is completely arguable. People or Nature? Yet to be solidly proven.

Also as freshmen in college I agree that you should never take the teacher word as the word of god. Everyone has their opinion.

Thanks to all the ignoramos cowards on here that gave me bad rep for my comments and do not have the guts to sign them. I hope you feel like real men!!! The facts are the world is warming up and yes glaciers have melted for hundreds if not thousands of years but normally they have stayed pretty much the same size for decades, now they are shrinking. Just because we have had 2 fairly good snow years does not mean doodly. I can tell you for a fact growing up in Eastern MT in the sixties and seventies we would have ice to skate on from mid to late October to mid to late March and sometimes into April. We also used to have snowcover on the ground sometimes 3 to 4 feet deep for the same time period because when it fell it never warmed up enough to melt all winter long. The Yellowstone river used to freeze solid for months and you would not see open water till late March, now the only time you see solid ice is when floating ice jams up and only for 2 or 3 days till the jam goes out.Now yeah we get snow on the plains but it usually lasts a week or 2 and then is gone. What is causing this warming is the only thing to be debated. I personally believe it is a cycle. How long is this cycle? Noone knows 10 years? 100 years? 1000 years? I do not have the answer. As far as any kid talking in class to other kids while a teacher is trying to teach a lesson. That is disrespectful and RUDE period. But times have changed since I was in school. Respectful debate used to be the order when I was in High School. And everyone wonders why quality teachers are getting harder and harder to find? The good ones are fed up with the mentality of parents and are leaving the profession for greener pastures. Now I will thank the cowards for the unsigned neg rep I will receive from this post.

Hell, there are tons of theories that unproven...should we teach all of them to impressionable kids? Getting warmer based on what? The 200 years of recorded evidence that they have? The earth has been around for 4.6 billion years and the weather has always changed. That is why there was an Ice Age. And then the ice melted. How presumptuous of these scientists to assume they can make accurate predicitions of such little evidence. Look at the math.

Hardly seems like enough evidence to assume the worst.....


Also don't fogret the psunami we had a few years back. It moved tons and tons of sand from where it was originally sitting. Scientists said that when that sand moved it threw the earths axis off by centimeters. However thoes few centimeters were just enough to change the way the earth was aimed at the sun. So yes the climate is changing, but it is not due to global warming. Know the facts before you make decisions. Just a thought........
