My 2010 upgrades

Motor is out and sure enough all of the mounts were broken. A couple of them were not as bad but still starting to come apart.

Test fit the billet crossmember. The Timbersled front on mine allows it to turn sharper and my steering just touches at full turn. I'm also going to grind a little more clearance for the coolant hose. You should always test fit custom parts to make sure there are no issues.

I'm thinking I'm going to be wishing I had taken a little out of that crossmember also, for that coolant line. That was sure a tight fit....

I don't think it would stop the flow of coolant, I just want to make sure nothing on this things rubs through. I'm going to be adding a bunch of wire cover and wrapping some of the looms with heat tape too. The loom to my coolant temp sensor was melted already and the wire connectors inside were melted together.

If you make it to Cooke city Punch Sean in the face, he was supposed to test fit these..:boxing:

Checked today and the steering has plenty of clearance. You do need to make sure you grind the corner of the compfusion mount to match the crossmember or the adjuster nut on the steering will hit it when you turn all the way right.

i warned people about this a couple months ago when i did mine, it was hitting with the stock crossmember too. glad you got it. and i will punch shaun for ya :face-icon-small-ton

Todays Progress

Got the bulkhead cleaned up a bit today and mounted the new crossmember and Compfusion mounts. I also installed the new intake boots. For those of you involved in the oil debate this sled has run VES 2 since day one and it is the cleanest engine inside I have ever seen. No rust anywhere as was seen with some lower quality synthetics. If I didn't know better I would think this engine had no more than about 200 miles on it. I'm going to swap the 05 pistons to 06 ones before I put it back together though just to be safe. If you look close in the photos you can see where I have added plastic wire cover over the mag side oil line that rubs against the mount bolt and I also covered the entire oil line that comes around the engine rather than have only a short section covered like the factory did.

Installed the Billet chaincase cover from Polzinhunter today and finished putting vent in my hood for air intake. Very disappointing that Polaris put an intake system on these things with so many gaps in it. I'm going to have to use alot of silicone under the hood to keep the snow out of the intake.

looking good, you are putting a lot of tlc in yours this season. I know what that is like.

Trying to do everything I can to make sure it runs perfect when I take her out. If it don't work when I get to the snow then I probably won't get to ride this year so I want to try to cover all the bases on it. I'm hoping to hit Colorado in March and Montana.

ok whats in that box??? which snow flap is that thing. Going to look SWEET!!!!

Pro RMK rear Flap 5438021-070 $15.39
Pop Rivets for flap (they sent the wrong ones)
Brake screen cover, I didn't like the duct that blows snow right into the brakes.
Clutch bolt
Newer style console without hole for rider select 2633519-070
new torque stop
rubber bumper for exhaust
new exhaust springs
Exhaust valve bellows and gaskets
oil filter
foam intake gasket
New head Orings
a few miscellaneous screws I was missing from my hood.

06 pistons and base gaskets should be here Tuesday

It does a good job of covering up where the rider select used to be too. Still need to install one vent on the right side where the plastic box used to be.

Sled looks great Z-man. Just wanted to follow up on the cross member/coolant line issue.

Not an issue anymore. They will have a much deeper milled relief now not touching the coolant line.

Very nice, Anyone installing Compfusion mounts needs to PM Franz for one of these, they are really nice and much stronger than the stock hollow crossmember.

I'm impressed, you sure get a lot accomplished on a $1000 budget! :face-icon-small-win

You must have missed where I said I exceeded the budget...lol. $1000 was the budget to get the avid drivers and the challenger extreme 163 track. The Barkbuster front I already had so I didn't count that as this years budget. Everything else I did exceeded the budget. I'm afraid to look at the receipts.

I think I am between 2000 and 2500 over the original budget .:face-icon-small-ton

another day another $500 worth of parts

Working on the Engine today. Still looks like new in there, can even read all the marking on top the pistons.
