More hillclimbers needed this year!

any one know how marty mobley and his son did. i let him borrow my blue skidoo 144" for the hillclimb event,, just wondering how they did. is it still in one piece.

Mike raced in the following classes 600 Imp stock 4th place on Polaris Dragon, 800 Imp stock “NT” (No time) Ski-Doo, 600 stock 3rd place on Polaris Dragon, 800 Stock “NT”.
Marty raced 800 stock 1st place on Polaris Dragon, 900 stock 5th place Polaris, 1500 Mod 4th place Ski-Doo, Stock King of the Hill 2nd place Polaris Dragon.

Yes, it is still in one peace and fast, I watched Mike riding it.

the one with the 925? I dont think he ran the sled and the last I seen it was still in one piece but running lean.

Robert(prayn),
real glad you went this year. You did well for a rookie and that coarse was one of the nastiest i've seen at Thompson Pass.

Thanks Doug, I am happy with my 2nd place in the Masters. (Thanks for the pointers) I have a long way to go before catching up with you or John.....on 2nd thought, I think I will live longer if I don’t catch you two Kenai Crazies!
Doug, I am glad you thought it was nasty....that was one ugly, rutted up, crusty shoot (we are talking about the coarse right) and not Zac's friends at the Pipe Line:p

Three in a row

Finally got my sled running right and she ran great all weekend, Thanks for letting me race your sled Robert, we might have given Wade a run for his money if your sled was not full of fuel :D

Is there an online layout of the course? Or some pics that show it? Do you get a test run before the race? Not to keen on going WFO up something I haven't ridden before.

It's not a very challenging course, but alot of fun. I ran it last year for the first time and was surprised how easy it was to run. My shorty F-Cat made it up and over pretty easy, and I'm not that good at hill climbing...

The course looked a little more difficult this year. There were quite a few "no-times" and I think there were competitors that never even made it over the top.

I hope your talking about Alyeska because Valdez course was probably one of the worst ive seen and alyeska course are just speed runs to the top and isnt near as steep as valdez.

Your welcome John, although I filled the fuel tank to "try" to slow you down so you wouldn’t beat me so bad.....It still didn’t work. Maybe I should have tied a boat anchor behind you;)

I would like to thank the Valdez Snowmobile Club and all of their volunteers for putting on another great weekend. John and Doug were both on fire this year with their FASTRAX prepped sleds, wish i could have gave them some competition. I enjoyed meeting some fellow snowesters and watching those sick turbo sleds climb like rockets. I look forward to racing with everyone at Alyeska.

Yeh... Alyeska. I don't think my sled would make it half way up in Valdez. It would be fun to try though...

Sooooo easy????????

The course this year was so easy that there was only 74 no times..... I don't have the results with me but I think i remember a few maybe quite a few that had no times last year as well. And no one will ever know who won the 600,700,900,1000,600imp,600mod;) The club has been a little behind in putting up the hillclimb results as well as AMMC. Was hoping to get an idea of how many people were showing up in recent years
I know I had a good time, battling strep and all, I thought the snow was great, thought of a few more ways to pick up a little speed although it was after the event. There is always next year.

Thank you to all the Racers!!!

I would like to say THANK YOU to every one who came down to Thompson Pass to enjoy the CRAPPY weather!!!!!

The race was a great turn-out.. It's always enjoyable when you have a good group to work with.

Yes the course was UGLY and Long. We should actually call it a MOUNTAIN climb..

Next year we have been talking about a mountain cross. Give us some input. The hill cross is tappering away. We are thinking about getting through as much as possible on Friday, Then run Mods on Sat. and follow it up with the mtn cross that afternoon. That gives people a chance to rest and drive home on Sun. Or for the rest of us we can go ride the massive open area's.

Give us some input. Registration would be locked in on Fri. That way we would know the amount of racers. Yes you could late reg.

For those of you that don't know what a Mtn cross is . You run a side by side course up the hill with gates and jumps.

Now back to last weekend.. I hope every one had a great time. Racers spread the word. Just like Prayn4snow first timer.. and he will be back.

Thanks for a awesome show everyone we will see you next year....

Spook:beer;:beer;:beer;

Congrats Doug. I had a hangover... But John, Fasttrax, Saxe, and I went for a good ride, did some drag racing, and some consuming.. I take it your drive went good?

I won't be going to Girdwood, My wife is leaving for Hawaii, I will be home alone with Fatman. I am going to go up to the Pass and try to get a Bear? If I don't hear from you good luck..
