More hillclimbers needed this year!

the maverick is a pile of chit in every riding condition except dry, deep fluffy powder. When the snow sets up or gets heavy or hard, the track lays over and dies, especially if your pushin big hp. There are way too many tracks out thereto settle for a maverick. IMO.

Take a drive belt, cut it in half bolt it together and instant brake. slip it over the ski it rides up on the spindle. They have been around for years...

Stanely, Don't you have to travel with them yahoos!!!

three weeks and we'll be sitting in the saddle drinking a beer. I think I am going to bring the helmet camera. who wants to strap it on? They probably won't let you???

I got a good shot of me getting ran over by my sled about three weeks ago. I can't download it or I would show it to yah.

For sure we will use it in Valdez. I know a few guys there, they won't mind.:beer;:beer;:beer;

I just went over the 07-08 reg.'s as long as the track does not appear to be ripping, or coming apart you won't have any problems. Missing lugs are acceptable.

600 shorty

I've been tossing around the idea of taking a shot at this. I've done quite a bit of steep, rough terrain climbing. Can a decent rider be competative in the 600 class on a race sled with a 1.75 x 121 track ? I know it will depend on snow conditions, but if the snow is set up or tracked up a shorty should hold its own. What have you guys seen in the past?

Had a freind place very well at Alyeska last year on a stock prox 440. He actually was way faster on that than he was on his mod 700 rmk:confused: Like you said, it all depends on the snow.Alyeska is usually pretty setup then.Valdez can be rock hard or been years when everyone is getting stuck trying to get to the starting line. It's a crap shoot. Just make sure to suck your limiter straps down tight and try to keep the front end down. That is the biggest problem with running the shorty. Go for it, have fun.

Racing a short track in Valdez these days can be tough. Not many people run 600 mod, it's worth a shot tough.

Tim, the dragon is alive and running. Ran it at turnagain this afternoon, and it runs well.

Doug.

I am leaving on Tues. I will be in Denver for 3 days, then to my folks in Lander til the races. Enjoy the drive. I will be staying at the lodge with Saxe. We will find you, or vise versa. Good luck... Spook.

Does any body know if they will allow a Snowhawk to compete. My buddy ran his last year and i have heard there was some who did not want the hawks to run. I also have seen where they have kicked them out of hill climbs down south. Any info on this would be great Thanks.

Heading to Valdez tomorrow

I have allot to do today to get ready. I will be driving a red Chevy 2500HD oil burner crew cab with a gray/black enclosed trailer. Stop by if you need anything or to meet other Snowest'ers.

You can compete with the Hawk, Zig did well last year at Alyeska.
