More hillclimbers needed this year!

Is there a good chance of messin up your sled at the alyeska one?

What are the differerences between stock and improved stock, Just engine mods?

Only seen a few sleds wrecked since 2001'.

Improved stock: Stock chassis, can run any track but stock length, any ski, and ANY shocks/springs. Motor: pipes, porting, OEM head but can modify, any clutching combo's, I forget the rest.

hows the race work? is it a technical pull up a mountain or what? like hillcross racing? iv got a rev i could run in the stock class, id like to get into hillcrossing. thanks

revised addition for Valdez H/C

I have teched sled for the past 4 years and NOBODY has had there sled torn down.Doug you will have to find a better way to start the mod! I think we a more than considerate. go to Jackson and see how they pick you apart.

We want you to RACE!! and mostly enjoy the weekend. If you do It once you will be back.

Some people have complained in the past. They try to sneak in some crap. but you know they don't even place.

Bottom line come race and have a good time..

These are both great races, but definately could use more participation. Valdez also has a juniors class which is a great way to make this sport grow. I know i will be at both events this year. The rules for both events follow ISR Hillclimb guidelines. If you have any questions on rules Doug put a link to both clubs in a previous post.

Thanks Doug... I have the nitrous Just no delivery system. I just received the "new" box a couple days ago. Hope it works???

I will be there this year for the tech. and the drinking... I will be in Jackson for the DRINKING. and of course I will cheer you on. Don't tell anyone I was cheering for PULL-LARIS. I don't want my image ruined any more than it already is.:beer;:beer;:beer;

Went riding yesterday, there was 2 cat m7's, rev800, and 5 polaris'. Well,,, we had to tow out 1 m7 and the rev:D. The rev had electrical problems, and the m7 was buried 4 feet in an avy. My friend was real lucky, he was under the avy all the way down the mountain. When it stopped, he was under a couple of feet, but somehow dug himself out. That was on monday, we found the sled yesterday within thirty feet of where he was.

Dang good to hear your friend was lucky! Where were you guys riding?

When is the hill climbs this year?

The avy was at Carter lake, just to the right, from the trailhead. The mountain faces are steep and not alot of vegitation to hold the snow.

The valdez climbs are april 25-26 I do believe. Alyeska is the following weekend, if they have them this year.

if i may. he did have a beacon right or a avy pack. [Beacon is a must]

Well Doug why was he climbing in a area without veggiation. to me.. that shows that that area lanches and wouldent be to safe. was this more of a spur of a moment thing cause its happened to us all at one time or another. glad to hear he dug him self out. By chance was he wearing a ABS?

I believe he had a beacon, I wasn't there the day of the avy. I don,t think anyone knew about the surface of the mountain. 2/3rds the way up, he realized he shouldn't be up there. So he turned out and on the way down, the avy started. The snow caught him and took him for a ride. He went through some small trees and off a 75ft cliff. It's for sure a miricle he is alive. He had a hard time getting to the mountain yesterday to help recover his sled. Luckily we found it. Nothing about $1500 won't fix.

I am teching the Mayor's cup on Sat. but we will riding Sunday.

I will fire up the helmet cam and see the xp's get smoked again.... Kinda sad when my poor little M7 stomps the latest and greatest?

My maverick is falling apart, missing lugs and showing cord in some places, my buddy who used to race AMMC said I wouldn't pass tech with missing lugs. Is this true?

No. as long as you have a regulation snow flap, read the regs though. It also depends on what class (s) you are planning on running, is the track offered for your type of sled from the factory?

Youre golden if you run improved. Funny it's doing the same thing to my A-20.
The snow turns to ice and rubs bad on the inside of the tunnel, and the drop brackets.

How do you like that track? I have heard alot of good things from people down south, but you know that A-20 rips up here in the heavy stuff. Of course I turned it around before I even rode it. I have a set of ski brakes in my pack so I don't mind the braking going down the steep.
