Really? How's it about you pays attenchion two the thred topic stead of for leatters!

As you wish!! If there was a good Cat dealer closer than 3 hrs from me, he11 yes I would be ridin an M8, but my Poo dealer is 10 minutes from my house and he always drives when we go riding, pretty hard to beat that. I only Payed $8,700 for my new sled. With $2,500.00 in mods it should keep up with a stock 2010 M8. Plus, I might have some $$ left over to buy my new friend Watch This a new dickshunerie.:D Good Times

Funny story. Went riding today with someone I met off snowest. He has an 09 XP. Sum up the story after riding my 2010 m8 he's gonna sell his xp and buy an m8. I tell you what though I don't know how you XP riders handle those sleds. I tried tipping one over and it was ridiculously hard! but to each their own. If you can maneuver one of those sleds more power to ya! LOL

Check out what he said. Post #27

I do love my XP it has been a very good and reliable sled, some blow belts some don't, luckily mine didn't. The 2010 M8 Cat runs well, and as for the pic showing the highmark going to the XP, may be true but not by that margin.

Chris sled ripped and I only rode it for 5 minutes, it felt as every bit as strong as my 09 that has Rooster Built Clutching and a Trygstad head.

So basically we need 5 feet of snow so me and Chris can line them up but I really don't think my XP is gonna beat that M8, out of the box that Cat is sik!!! and I need one really bad!!!!:beer;:D

Went out with a Buddy that just put a D&D 901, Y pipe and pipe, in his 09 M8. He had to play with his Boondocker Box the whole time. He could not pull over 7400 RPM, which I think is not bad for a cat :) Long story short, my 860 w/Jaws Twins spanked it, but I have to not brag to much cause his sled was running rich. I am really interested in what the 901 can doo, will give an update.

Just wait until I get it dialed in CRFfred LOL. It will be better next time we go out, since we got it dialed in a little better. Checked the boondocker and Im over reeving my 260+ rpm

Brp

"The new xp that i rode was also chewing through belts ,so im sure with some more money spent on clutching you could make it run better".
Can't believe these guys can't figure out how to make a clutch work on a sled yet. '08,'09 and still in 2010, they are burning belts @ $200 a pop. That along with crankshafts would be the reason I would go with an M8.

its all about set up and rider ability my old sled was a 1m 900 w jaws pipes and everything i could take off to lighten people use to tell me the 900's were slow till i walked away from them i was only ever beat by other 900's sleds built by the same guy that told me how to tune mine and they were ported but throw in a 900 w the same mods as mine but not clutched right and id spank em but now i ride a stock m8 and same thing if they dont have even the right psi in the rear float they wont climb as well

I have 1350 miles on the factory belt, still hitting 8200 rpm's Guess I'm lucky or blessed :D

Lucky and blessed

I had the first of two or three winter visits with my ex Doo dealer today. We will always be close. The news he had on the 2010 seems to follow with what I read up above. Trying to shim secondary to improve belt wear now. Not as bad as '08/'09 models but still not good compared to the pre '08 sleds. If you have that many miles on your original belt and your still getting that kind of performance then you should consider yourself very fortunate. Many, Many XP owners would love to have your set-up. I've never had a belt on any SkiDoo sled for that long....Ever and I've had quite a few from 1967 up to '08 including 4 Rev chassis and 1 XP.

2009 Xp
I have 850 miles on my belt. No trail riding. Pretty much pinned all day when in the deep powder. Put oil and gas in and pull the rope. No problems whatsoever.
