Lost lake.

OK so who went up Fireman"s today and how bad is the Luge run? Anybody go up Primrose? Heded that way in the morning and trying to decide which is the lesser of two evils with this warm weather. Thanks for an update.:beer;

Was one of the last one out at the firemans trail and it is still in pretty good shape. No bob sled run yet. Should be able to run right up it tomorrow with no problem (no switchback). There is one slick spot developing at the bottom of the luge/bobsled run but if you carry some speed coming out of the parking lot it should not be a problem. I would be there again tomorrow but the new sled is still eating belts. 4 belts in 5 rides. Had a blast today. Have fun tomorrow

What sled are you riding? Sounds like a xp diet?

Thanks for the post Double L :beer; I was about to go Primrose instead in fear of the ice. I hate Primrose Thanks and I hope you get your clutching figured out on that xp. Hope they are buying you belts in the meantime! That adds up quick. How was the snow up top? We'll be there in the am.

We should be at firemans at 930. See you there.

Yep I was told they had that figured out for 09 but obviosly not for me at least ,and hopefully just me. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. But I dont want the Lost Lake section to get caught up with brand BS. It is what is and I'll get it figured out one way or another. It was fun today even with all my sled frustrations.

Yea I hate Primrose to. Firemans should/will be sweet. And they (the dealer) have replaced all three belts. The cluthches are staying engaged for some reason after I let off the throttle(its not a simple belt adjustment promblem). The dealer has put two sets of ramps and rollers as well as some other mods, ITS F't. On the way out on the trail I was jogging beside my sled to show my buddy. I should be back in action by this weekend. Ohh the snow is heavy and fun. It is simalar to riding after a foot of snow in april. Dive into the rollers to the right of the lake. There is a lot of freshies left.

double L , I have seen some 09's come in that have had really tight bushings in the sliding half of the drive clutch causing the the clutch to stick after it starts to build some heat. run your sled for a good 10 min or so and the open the panal, lift the track off the ground and watch the drive clutch and see if the drive sliding half returns when you let off the gas. if it sticks open Let your dealer know so they can replace the sliding half.

I think they already tried to fix the problem you may be suggesting. It did not work. Please read what I've already posted and then PM me back. I'm not saying in any way you are wrong, in fact it sounds like you are dead on, im just trying to give you as much info as possible. I'm by no means a clutch guru, rather I'm a pull cord guy that rides a lot. Above is my sled histoy. Thanks in advance for any info

Throttle

If you are riding in deep light powder you are probably experiencing ice on the throttle cable. it will seem like the clutches are sticking. Ice builds up between the throttle flipper and the block were the cable comes out of the sheath. Clean off the ice and see if that makes a difference. I had this happen several times this riding in deep snow.

Thank you Double L!!!! You made our day. Rode Firemans today and had 6 in our group. All ran right up the hill no problems at all. Got up to the cabin and had 40-45 degree temps and bright blue skies all day with great snow. Played off to the right deep in the ravines and had many stucks all day. Out of the 6 of us nobody had a camera, but it was a great spring day in december. Sure, it could use another 6 feet of snow, but I will not complain at all about what was there for the 1st week of December! Thanks for the ride guys. Had a great time. Anyone got a hot tub?

Rode lost today. Would have been blue bird all day if the fog would have burned off. Definately tracked out now and needs more snow but a great first ride to break in the new engine.
