No thanks on the tbo... goin back to my roots

I've bought and sold alot of sleds over the years....:D

I will back him up on the garage thing because it has been in mine for most of the three years. As far as the rest whelll. I did look at it when i got back from the ride on sunday and the piston moves up and down about 1/4 inch by itself and the crank sounds cranky. I hope that the altitude compensator is ok I did not look at it.:rose:
Just looked at the 2012 Cat and don't know what to think. might have to jump ship again. 2011 Pro-Ride 163 gray 580 miles 4 yr warranty $10,???.??

man things are slow around here. whos been out? looks like i may be done for the season...broke something 5 minutes into the first day during our cooke trip and finally got it torn apart today and it sure dont look good lol. clearance btwn the cyl and piston was .009"..and we easured it 5 times to make sure...from what i have read polaris recomends a max of .006". pto side cyl skirt busted and effed a lot of crap...mag side skirt on the exhaust side is also cracking and had a ton of room to flex and crack due to the nice gap between the case and skirt and the piston slapping up and down the cyl. time to put a big ole carbed thumper in! :D

ruh roh raggy!

DEAR POLARIS.....**** YOU AND YOUR **** PRODUCT

totally sucks, can't believe that the MORONS would put the pistons in with .009 clearance, no wonder they have piston slap issues. First time I measued it I checked my mike as I figured it was out, nope starret mike right on the money, .009 with the brand new update pistons. Its a time bomb just watin to let go, not only that but the cylinder skirt to case was .014 !! no wonder they have flex cracking on the thrust side. If these motors would just be assembled by a competant person they would not have these horrible issues.

What a BUMMER. How many miles on that engine? Sounds like it would have mic'ed out of spec when it was first assembled.

About 800 miles since the motor was updated, yup they would have miked way out at assembly....oh, wait, you need to measure something:face-icon-small-con:face-icon-small-con ??? Factory parts are always perfect....:face-icon-small-dis

I'm about ready to tear the head off the pro to check it out

In the pictures it's kind of hard to tell if the cross hatch hone pattern is gone or not. Thought that it may have more miles on it then it does.

i'm bettin they never even honed for the new rings and pistons, just pulled out of the box and slapped that crap in there

How does this motor compair to other dragons with the same miles? Does a large percentage have failures around 2000 miles or so or could it be engine failures within a s/n# range (ie... bad batch)? I don't know just asking.
