lol no kidding. just got back from great falls. hes doin good and has put in a request for studded snow tires on his walker so he can go out to the barn to feed the horses lol. if the Dr. gives the go ahead, im gunna move him to the hospital in choteau tomorrow so he is closer to family. we have a good physical therapist here too so it would work out good.

Take a looksy tomorrow, but it was seeing 12# at the time so I tink it won't be good. PTO plug looks fine, Mag side has lots of anuminum and she won't pull over. I gotta say I was looking good right up to the point of failure though.lol:face-icon-small-dis

Good ol Roostur pulled me home.

ehhehheee

hmm, it was the mag side skirt that finally went on old Crackle and Snort.....

Skirt failure, which led to ring failure, which led to jug and head failure, which was evident by the aluminum all over the plug and a stuck pull rope...

RIP my old friend, I loved that sled..................
Wish I woulda just fixed it and kept it..............

Prolly the first real load Bobby B. has put on that sled so far........:face-icon-small-win

So what does the damage amount to?

The damage started under the piston. Wrist-pin bearing best case, connecting rod worst case. I need to lift the cylinder to see what kinda $$$ is involved. I pulled a bunch of metal flakey stuff off the piston top with a magnet and the cylinder looks ok including the ports.:face-icon-small-sho

ouch!

hmm

Magnetic flakey metal?????? Hope the ole cranky is ok....

Didn't fk up the head or ports huh. Don't sound like a skirt, bearing of some sort, yeah, hope it's the wrist.....

The piston skirt looks fine and the ring appears ok looking in from the exhaust port. The head looks a little roughed up and the top of the piston looks bad. The next worry will be how much material pounded the fins of the fun maker.:face-icon-small-sad

Hey Wingnut I may have a lead on a barely rode Dragon Turbo that some old geezer took out on a trail ride once in a while. Always garaged!! :face-icon-small-win
