Hmmm.

I am totally shooting in the dark on this one then...but have you checked the voltage regulator?

Hmmm.

well i took it in 2 weeks ago and burndown pluged it in and said it had the bad fuel map in it which made the det sensor way too sensative so he changed it at no cost(thanks again) ran it one more ride and it ran rich and at 7700 RPM but no limp more or check engine lights...there was insulation coming out of the clam shell so i took it off and wrapped the pipe with header wrap and took the tbs off and reeds and they were so flipin dirty it wasnt even funny..i cleaned them up and ran some sea foam through it and it idled great after that and it ran 8050 here in choteau...but it went into limp mode twice. i stopped and looked things over after it went into limp mode and no signs of deto. i took it up to the mtns (7k) and ran it and it ran clean but still 7700 with 59g weights and it went into limp mode once. CEL went off a couple times (blimked once) for TPS but who knows...im either gunna sell the bitch if Kurt's cant figure it out or pull the motor and slap in a carbed BB or something lol

Have you tried a new pipe sensor Ragin? Did you flash things to a map that will work for the single pipe now? Is it scuffed inside?:face-icon-small-sho

no i havnt because they are 150 bucks :( ..dont wanna spend that much on something that may not work. the check engine light will flash 5 times if it is the pipe sensor and so far it hasnt thrown that code. there are patterns to the check engine light flashes...when it goes into limp mode its a continuous blink with no pattern. its over at Kurt's right now getin looked at....hopfully i wont have to sell a kidney on the black market to be able to pay for it when its done lol.

im pretty sure i didnt squeek a piston. i looked at both the intake and exhaust sides just through where the exhaust valve goes and on the intake side when i took the tb's off. the only thing i saw was a little line on the pto side (intake) but i couldnt feel a scratch or any wear when i felt it. other than than there were no signs of det. on top and everything looked fine. as for the reflash i just had the one done a week or two ago at kurt's and was using a fuel box when i had the pipes but the box is off now.

Every so often I have to clean my sensor off cause of the race gas. The constant limp mode deal sucks with the deto not showing anything. Hopefully it will be something easy. They have a pretty good recipe for a single pipe(slp) and there is a used pipe I believe down there if they find your cure.

we cleaned it off thinkin the lead from the av gas i was runnin made it dirty but it made no change. we pulled the sensor out of a friend's 700 rmk and it made no differance. hopfully the det sensor took a crap or something simple like that...i just hope the bill isnt too bad...damn school has me tighter than a virgin mouse as far as funds go lol. as long as the limp mode gets fixed ill be happy..i dont need that thing freakin out and cuttin power in a hairy spot when i need it the most because with my luck, thats exactly what it will do ha ha.

Don't feel too bad ragin.......I just dumped 500 bucks in new pistons and a Jug! Hopefully with any luck ill have it back up and runnin this weekend! Fingers crossed and all!

ok

Bought some new hickory hardwood flooring today. Lookin at some "SnapSystem" tile too, anyone ever used this stuff??

Haha, this is what i get to talk about all winter,,,,,, you guys suck!

oh well, next year will be fun

Even MB7, my wife, says she hates seein all the sleds goin through town......

That means next year is gonna be good!!!

How are the PooPro's workin????

Sorry I'm no help in the flooring department.

The sleds are running good out of the box for the most part.

It may be a bit early to say that the new pro is the best built factory mountain specific sled out of the box to date but I'll go ahead and say it is anyways.

I'll also say it's no match for a turbo powered sled either though.

So there's only one thing a guy can do and that's to turbo the pro I quess if push comes to shove.:face-icon-small-win

In agree..have 75 miles on my pro, I would say there is pretty much nothing I would change on it as they really hit the nail on the head mountain sled wise. Even the clutching is durn near spot on. Very light, very fun to ride.
Compared to a "holz" suspention lightweight dragon or my wifes modded 700 rmk it is a tad more flickable..but thats comparing a stock pro to 5000.00 or so worth of mods to suspention/weight on the dragon.

Maybe some select tunnel renforcement around the suspention mounts for mine just cause im a big guy but thats about it, I even like the sound of the stock pipe and can..quiets nice for a change..lol..

Ya def not the same league as turbo sled BUT having ridden maybe 7 different turbo deals so far until they REALLY get the fueling/lag/low end much much better I'm kind of so-so on them.Whats "no-lag?" well that means to me pin it at 3000,run to 8200,let off ,backshift, pin it again under uphill load and it better not miss one beat. Turbos are amazing when they are "on boost" And sticking a 5000 rpm primary spring in one to cure lag is not a fix..lol...plus nice to have a sled with 2 year warrenty. Until they make a true mass air/o2 electronics for a sled (like every modern car) there will always be issues with forced induction piggyback type systems. Maybe i'm just a old school engine builder but when I hit the go flipper I want power now,and zero issues. No wait,no blubers,no problems.....:face-icon-small-coo

I agree that this sled is as good or in a lot of cases even better than 90% of the last year and older mod sleds in it's class. It will run with piped edges, rides way smoother, easy to throw around and your not worn out by the end of the day because you feel the sled rode you instead of you riding the sled.

As for mods for the pro to get it to the next level it's looking like I either spend $1000 on a slp pipe kit (no lag and should be reliable better performance), spend $5000 on a turbo kit (because I would rather have a bit of lag with the kind of power these provide), or leave it stock for now at least until the 2012 sleds come out to see if my $1000 or $5000 would be better spent upgrading to even a whole different sled assuming the next year sled might even be better than this years sled.

hmm

Interesting paradox you describe there Westmont. It used to be you just drop 5k into what you have and wait till the stockers catch up or come close to what you have created. Dont seem to work quite like that anymore. The turbo issue is another thing. Lag, I think that term gets thrown around a little too vaguely, I totally agree with what 2x says in terms of "lag" and what you don't want a mtn sled to do. I think the 4 strokes, or at least the one I had are getting closer to gettin rid of the lag issue, but, the weight???

I'm liking that new Pro, I might have to take a spin on yours one of these days Johnny. I think MB7 has already made up her mind, she likes em!!!!

It will be interesting to see how our buddies "PROBO", that's what Im callin his Pro turbo, works out. Wish I had an old beater so I could at least go and watch these babies go..

yup wing 4 stroke,425 pounds turbo with 300 hp from factory with warrenty i';m the first in line.....YAMAHA YOU LISTENING ?????:rant:

You could've turbod the one sittin in our trailer right now. :face-icon-small-win Thanks again!! Roads have been good so far, might try and ride Buck's Creek tomorrow, not sure what yet.

ahhhhh its the 425 pound part..lol....real pleasure riding and dealing with you guys !! Hope we can all meet up again sometime :face-icon-small-coo drive safe !

The better boards are the best feature of that sled, they work great for putting carbs on while you rejet them. Took 30 mins flat to rejet the Viper.

1/7/2010 HELP ME!! I'VE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP!!

very little lag on are t apexs, the new pros are nice but the way i see it,for 12,000 a guy could pick up a used turbo for 10,000,and have 300 hp climb anything, and not get suck very much:face-icon-small-win.When you thank your stuck just WOT and your pulling up on top.But the turbo yamahas arnt for everybody. Not trying put anyone down, just how i see it lol:face-icon-small-win I would like to have both.
