very little lag on are t apexs, the new pros are nice but the way i see it,for 12,000 a guy could pick up a used turbo for 10,000,and have 300 hp climb anything,and not get suck very much.When you thank your stuck just WOT and your pulling up on top.But the turbo yamahas arnt for everybody.Not trying put anyone down,just how i see it lol I would like to have both.

Some of us were never ment to have 300 hp climb anything sleds. I have enough trouble and get into enough trouble riding stock out of the box hp sleds at times and your right it costs more to have less. lol

As for 300 hp sleds, well I had the pleasure of riding with relentless rider, sledfvr, and a couple others in Surveyor a couple years ago now and you guys are in a class of your own when it comes to climbing the steep and deep. Very few riders will ever know what it's like to go the places you guys go with sleds but even with that it's impressive to watch. Hope to see you guys on the hill again sometime.

Thanks westmont,its all about the fun factor,I could be happy on just about any sled that gets me into the mountians.Ive been looking into the snow bikes,might try out the timbersleds kit.The turbos suck in spring time riding,no fun for me lol,but the bike would rip it up.

yeah problem with sledding you do need both types of sled ...just 2 different aspects of the sport. lol thats what makes it fun

Ya, it has a lot to do with where you live and ride at too. If I rode around the town I live in then a tundra would be plenty of sled. All the clear cuts are grown in and its all tree riding. I don't mind driving 1 1/2 hours to get to the big hills where I can open the turbo up. Spring riding is not fun with a four stroker though. That impulse kit on the Apex really does have no lag. It is almost harder to ride because it's too responsive. Can't beat it in the bottomless snow though. It's like a boat that planes out, jumps on top, and keeps going.

I agree that this sled is as good or in a lot of cases even better than 90% of the last year and older mod sleds in it's class. It will run with piped edges, rides way smoother, easy to throw around and your not worn out by the end of the day because you feel the sled rode you instead of you riding the sled.

As for mods for the pro to get it to the next level it's looking like I either spend $1000 on a slp pipe kit (no lag and should be reliable better performance), spend $5000 on a turbo kit (because I would rather have a bit of lag with the kind of power these provide), or leave it stock for now at least until the 2012 sleds come out to see if my $1000 or $5000 would be better spent upgrading to even a whole different sled assuming the next year sled might even be better than this years sled.

X2. Polaris made a helluva sled this year. I've spent a little time on one and it is really nimble and predictable. I'd like to see one with a turbo.

Well, after having the TNytro for a couple years and getting to know what the POWER is like,,, I can tell you I will definately miss that.

BUT!!!

The kind of riding we usually do,,, Tight, sometimes tooo tight, Johnny!!! I would sacrifice that power and learn to live with the lag anyday, anyday!!!!!

NOW,,,

Granted I didn't really get used to the Nytro, and maybe I'm just a puss anyway... When you can only go 10 feet at a time, that big turbo, or any turbo for that matter was useless.

Had more FUN, and definately KNEW the old one better, but, I still want another turbo, just on a LIGHTER sled.........


It's all about having FUN!!!! Sometimes you have to figure out what really is FUN for you, and everybody is different..

I had a blast on the M7. Sometimes the FUN is knowing you CAN'T make it, but you're sure as hell gonna try anyway!! my 2 cents.

I may have been accused of riding in tight trees before but not since the last time I rode. lol

As for pictures we need to take a camera as I've witnessed pros hanging vertical from trees in the creek bottom. Might refer to the first line posted above. It wasn't that bad though as we could only count for 3-4 stucks within one drainage. It was a small drainage though.

im finally headin back to the zoo tonight...its time i get out of this windy **** hole lol. hopfully i can take my "iguana" out for a ride and see if kurt's did the trick. hopefully they were able to tell the computer to eff off and make it run so i can actually call it a dragon again ha ha.

hows hoodoo lookin? i wanna check out something new sometime. i have been to surveyor and LOVED it but that was 2 years ago in May. forecast says a bunch of snow for that area over the next few days(2-3'). is it mainly hills in that area or is there plenty of boondockin? all these avvies got me a little paranoid. hell there were even small slides on the sides of the road from lincoln to msla on my way back last night. one big one(for the area that slid) outside of bonner..but it always slides there, especially when it rains on top of everything. well if anyone is headin that way sometime, give me a hollar is ya dont mind a tag along.

Shindig? I think there is a few that where there that are still wondering what went on. I myself still can't believe that the rope broke. Did that happen?? I guess if it is okay with MB7 we could put together another shindig. You guys figure out when.
