John, I'd love to know your riding schedule.

You're funny Scott! I'd like to know my riding schedule also. lol

The only thing I know for sure is that I have a room reserved in Cooke from the 17th through the 20th.
I'm flexible and often ride on a phone call therefore the "short notice" works for me. Normally we ride weekends due to the work schedule.

Hmm

Was an awesome day in the mountains, good snow, blue, sunny skies, and only me and MB for miles around!!!!

John, do I have your phone number?

Winger, did you ever get my PM before Christmas?

You guys aren't going to believe this, but there is an undocumented report of a wolverine sighting at Packer Meadows on Thursday Dec 27th. The person who reported it (was riding with me) had a full mount of one in her house all through her childhood. She knows what one is.
It was in a tree at the far end of the meadow right by the road.

I didn't see it and didn't hear about it until they caught up to me a bit later. By then it was too late for me to see it.

They'd have to SHUT DOWN Lolo Pass to ALL usage. Even skiers and snow shoers.

Close the highway.

NO CROSS COUNTRY SKIING!!!!

I lost my gopro up Hoodoo if anyone finds it. Somewhere between the outhouse and the meadow. Looks like its gonna snow this week so the weekend should be good.

Hmmmm

Haha ha, I got a bad post rating? ????

Anyway, ,,,,,,,,, looks like the 26th is shaping up to be a sweet weekend .......

FYI - Current status of the Clearwater NF Travel Management Plan pertaining to the closure of over snow travel in the HooDoo, Surveyor, Beaver Ridge, etc... areas as of 1/8/13 and as per Molly (Clearwater NF Powell Ranger Distrct 208-942-3113).

These areas are all still open to snowmobiling and will be until a map of the closure is published and distributed.

Maybe news to some with what seems to be that there's a lot of riders still wondering about if I can or cannot currently ride Surveyor, HooDoo, Beaver Ridge, Williams Lk, etc..

I talked to Molly and she said that the map was supposed to be out by this past November and that didn't happen so the date was pushed back to the end of December 2012. The end of December came and went and still no map. I asked when she thought the maps really would be out to the public and she said her guess was that we wouldn't see one before the end of this riding season. She says that's just a guess and things may change but she really didn't see a map being published and distributed prior to the end of this season. Molly noted that she also rides these areas so she too has interest as to if and when a map will be issued.

I would like to hope that our fight to help keep this area open has to do with the delay on getting the maps out and better yet that we never see a map.

Again, just passing the info along as I learned from calling the Powell Ranger District and asking questions. Molly was more than willing to take the time and very helpful in answering my questions so please don't hesitate to call her if you too have questions.
