Parking Lot at Copper Creek??

I heard a rumor that they won't be plowing out the parking lot at Copper Creek next year due to lack of funds and support???
Anyone else heard this?

I wasn't a member of the club before but after all the riding I did there this season I'll be joining next season.

I haven't heard that. I attended a meeting a while back and they have more money than the Great Falls club 10 fold. So if they are saying money that's bunk. I am going up to the cabin I will see what I can find out.

for anyone who goes this weekend...just in advance...you suck! i would like to say i have been sledin in the middle of june but tis the season....for work(atleast for me) :( oh and jim if ya go take some pics for me to cry over lol. :beer;

I'm going to cry because I can't find anybody to go with.
I called the Lincoln Ranger District station yesterday to see if sleds where still allowed in the bowls. She said that there are no restrictions for sleds in the bowls but there is going to be a court ruling this fall that will slap restrictions to May 31. I asked her about the plowed road, she said they plowed it so the rangers could get up there to do some tree planting which they finished this week. She said it probably won't happen again, but I thanked her anyway and told her all the other sledders appreciated it as well.

jim we should call them up next spring and say we would like to go plant some trees for them and ask them to plow it lol!

I like the way you think Hayden!!!!!

I decided to say the hell with it and went by myself, well, I took my four year old, Natalie. The first 100 yards was not too fun - trees rocks gravel stumps, then got on a snow patch, then another 100 foot of trees rocks gravel stumps, then snow and hey, we were good to go. There was about 4" of slushy new stuff, more when climbing and where it drifted. I forgot my good camera at the truck and had to use my phone and half of those didn't turn out. But here is what turned out. We where there for about 3 1/2 hours. Not too much fun when nobody else is there but was cool to be there non the less.

and a couple more pics..........
I really really wish I would have brought the good camera with me but I was not going to go through the hell and rocks to go get it. I actually got stuck on the way out in a small creek about 200 ft. from the pickup (simmons skis don't like creek banks) but I got er out!:o
There is probably a couple more days worth of getting in there if a guy is really wanting to get back there. After that, no more. Plenty snow up high, just won't be able to get to it.

I think I'm done though,
over and out!

Snowed 6" to 8" down low a couple of days ago. Clear and 4 degrees this morning. Sled tracks in the ditches around town and along the highway. Folks are out riding!!

More Coming

Supposed to snow Saturday through early next week. Will ride Sat. so curious to see what it is like out there.

thats nice and perty looking!
but anyways.....how is the riding in lincoln...trees?,,,open??,,,steep???

Pretty much all of the above. The fire opened things up a lot up around copper creek, pretty fun in the trees now. The bowls are a good time when the snow is good. You can ride both sides of the highway. The club house usually has a bunch of good people in there that will point you in the right direction. You can ride over to the Seeley Lake from lincoln if you want, lots more good riding up there and some huge open fields to play in. I think the Ponderosa Snow Warriors are the club up there. I've done a couple poker runs up there and always had a blast.

here are some pics from the bowls up copper
