Was the dealer contacted and informed about the problem hard to bash the dealer if the delivery boy does this and dealer doesnt know about it?

Nope, That’s the point of a star rating, angies list, and reviews. This is how other people don't get disappointed or screwed. Any employee is a reflection of the employer.

So apparently the buyer did get a hold of the salesman at Rexburg and he was extremely apologetic and concerned and made things right with the guy. Again this wasn't meant to be a bash on Rexburg Motorsports, they are one of the biggest dealers in the area and are obviously doing something right to have gotten to that status. I was simply telling of the experience we witnessed and this should not be taken that everybody will have such an experience with this dealer as I'm sure they have lots of happy customers.

As for everybody saying "Oh thats what you get for going with the lowest price" I'm sorry but that is sheer ignorance and stupidity to say something like that. I don't agree that cheaper is always better but it makes sense that one of the biggest/most reputable dealers for sleds/bikes/utv's would be able to offer the best price due to higher sales numbers vs. the smaller dealer that each snowmobile sale may make or break you for a profit.

You mean to tell me that if your in the market for a new vehicle or sled or bike or whatever and dealership X offers you all the same things and product that dealership Y offers for a lower price your not going to go with the better deal? If you say No to this question your not any brighter than the guy driving that truck that delivered the sled...Wait, Snowmobiler was that you?

This complete lack of "Service" sucks. I've seen it a lot here in Alaska with the big box stores. It is really too bad the manufactures forced the small dealerships out of business about ten years ago. Now buying a sled is like shopping at Costco. They pull it out of the crate and start it for two seconds before you pick it up. Absolutely Worthless!

I used to buy from a dealership run by a husband and wife in the middle of no where, three hours from my house. He would spend as lomg as took to setup my sleds exactly like I wanted them sometimes days and charge me nothing but parts cost, which he sold me at 15% below lower 48 list. But Polaris forced them to close because corporate policy dictated they bye and try to sell sleds they had no market for. I miss those days!

I'm still looking for a dealer to replace him, any suggestions / offers? Willing to deal with lower 48 dealer if the terms are right. Thanks!

We live in a "you get what you pay for" society.

Remember this quote
" It is a bad thing to pay too much, it is far worse to pay too little"

If you don't get, then you just don't get it.

I would agree that money is tight and you don't want to waste it. I have heard this so many times people shop and buy base just off price then go around bashing the place because of a horrible buying experience etc. you got excatly what you paid for.
Now if he did indeed pay for delivery then yes unacceptable I agree but if it was free the margin that the dealer made on the sled was cut at least in half just driving from rexburg to bozeman and back that's on the conservative side just for fuel not counting what they paid their guy. rather than bash a dealership for a mistake they should be complemented for their efforts.
Like it was said above if you don't get it I am wasting my time some never will

If it were me and I took delivery of the sled for my buddy I would have at least sprayed it off for him. You are talking probably talking about a $8 an hour employee maybe. Yeah it sucks but come on dude. Yeah I probably would call the dealer and let him know so it didn't happen again but I am sure it didn't hurt a thing on the sled. To each his own I would have picked it up myself in a enclosed trailer but now you have it just go ride it and ENJOY!!!!

What is your point?
You make a poor buddy. Some jerk shows up with that and I call my buddy and or the dealer. It gets fixed prior to unloading. After I get done with his boss, jerk uses his dime to clean it inside and out. (and waxed)
Why did you post this before contacting Rexberg? You totaly slanted it. Why slam SNOWMOBILER? His point is step up and take care of yourself a little. Quit looking for a handout. Why didn't you run down there and pick it up for him? It is a day there and back. Was your buddy too cheap to buy the fuel?

Maybe if you would read the above posts you might, just might be able to comprehend the "point" of this thread. How did I slant this at all? If you read the above posts you'd see that I did not say anything opinionated at all, simply told the story as it was in hopes to inform our snowmobile community to prevent future situations like this. As for contacting the dealer it was done by the buyer of the sled after we sent him pictures of the sled via phone (which were taken while the sled was still on the trailer). He immediately contacted the dealership but the salesman wasn't in and due to the fact that the buyer was on his way out here and has been waiting all season to get his hands on his new ride, there wasn't much that could be done at the moment. Nobody is looking for a hand out in this situation and in fact a hand out was turned down when the dealer was contacted. As for one of us running down there to pick it up we would have gladly done it if we'd of known the sled was going to show up in the condition that it came in. Just a little tough when we go to school full time, work part time and wrench on sleds constantly.

I'll say it again since Mikew5945 is too incompetent to read above posts before getting on his soap box. This thread was not meant to bash or slam Rexburg MS at all, simply telling the snowmobile community what unfolded in the driveway.

To anyone that thinks this is acceptable

I feel sorry for any of you that think this is ok to deal with people in a manner like this. If you feel this is ok you are probably the guy selling a used sled or parts to someone knowing there is a problem with it and dont care that you are screwing them over because it was cheaper than new and you get what you paid for. I dont care if he paid for delivery or not you do not sell something to somebody when you know something is wrong with it. You should always treat someone like it was you on the other end. I dont care if its free if you know theres a problem with something dont do a bad deal. I wish more people would take the high road and not the easy road.

I'm not one to get on here and bad mouth dealerships or companies but I am truly less than impressed with Rexburg Motorsports delivery system.

Moral of the story, If you want something done right, do it yourself...[/QUOTE]

You must have been the driver. You did bad mouth the dealer prior to getting an answer from them. You said you would have picked it up had you known the condition upon arrival. You are full of it.
I did read the posts. You posted pictures and a story that was full of your opinion. (3-6-2012 7:12) Your post was full of after the fact facts. You and your roommate stood there like two drunken college kids. You had all the answers. On 3-7-12 at 11:03 you posted free delivery. There was no way you would have picked it up. I'd bet your buddy told you he got free delivery. Then at 12:42 you attack Snowmobiler because he thinks you are on the couch. Once again--you stood there like drunken college kids--. Then at 10:49 you throw out some bull on dealer X and dealer Y.
I think I did read it. You got people hooked with the 1/2 story and photos. Bottom line, Rexburg was upset with the delivery condition. You put the thoughts in other people's minds by what you and how you told the "STORY".
Photos (which were taken while the sled was still on the trailer). Those were your words. Pictures taken while sled was on the trailer... You are a LAD. Your pictures have no trailer. How did you slant this??????

Well said, I agree with you 125% I have never paid retail and I hope Im never THAT stupid. Hope the driver gets fired ,and the salesman docked in pay as it should be his personal goal to make sure Everything to do with that transaction was done right!!! I have bought a lot of new sleds in the last 25 yrs. I always snowcheck and never pay full price, NEVER. P.S. $400 profit I call B.S. I know for a fact our EX local dealer was making $2500 on the 09 dragon 163. NO excuses for piss pour service with that profit .

Yeah your right, I just made all this up to bad mouth a dealer...not at all man, get a clue. My post is full of "after facts" what should I have done? Gotten out my computer and typed the story up as it happened?? Your probably the smartest guy on the internet.

So now going to College correlates with being drunk all the time?? You make some pretty bold allegations in your posts. Not sure what your problem is but if you'd like to PM me your phone number I would gladly send you pictures from my phone of the sled on the trailer the second it arrived.

Also as soon as we saw the sled and its condition we called the buyer. It wouldn't make much sense for one of us (not the sled owner) to call the dealership and start complaining. We simply showed the buyer the situation and let him handle it. Why would I have any motive to get on here and bad mouth/make up stories about a dealer that I've never dealt with nor probably never would have in the first place due to good dealerships around here. I could have cared less what the sled looked like as it wasn't mine. There is no reason for me to get on here and post BS stories. That being said we were also quite nice to the delivery guy and wanted to get him on his way back to Idaho as soon as possible as it was already 6pm and the roads weren't getting any better and he had a long drive ahead of him.

Ya thats not good reputation. Sounds more like an issue with their nimrod delivery guy than the actual dealership. I would have just washed it off, called the dealer and remembered that for next time. Driving over that culvert proves my point about him not being the sharpest tool in the shed.

i have no feelings for those who dont shop local, may your sled burn down on your first ride, seriously peolpe like you are the reason dealerships like rexburg are in business and screwing other dealers, yet you have the nuts to complain about the side effects of being a bad person??

im sure some people out there would have complained about slush on the new cover.

Damn Straight! Most of the salt they use onthe roads these days is magnesium chloride. Which will dissolve the aluminum, plastics, and steel cars and sleds are made from these days! I for one won't ride ditches due to that fact and won't use an open trailer even with a salt shield and cover either, because you can watch the sled dissolve in two or three years if you do!
