Island Park 20/21 Snow Conditions

I was up there today (black bear) for the first time this season. The area for the most part is still played out somewhat from the Xmas N.Y. crowd, but we managed to have a decent time of it. As bad as the wind was yesterday, conditions were decent all things considered. As always, the closer you get to West, the more hammered the areas are. Definitely need a foot or two to reload, but I'll call it a moral victory that I got out without breaking anything.

1/15 - We know lots of people are looking for snow. In the next few days there are slim pickings for finding it in our area but here is where you are most likely to find new #snow.

I am getting a little frustrated by the lack of any new snow for nearly a month in the greater Yellowstone area. There may be a pocket here or there, but generally speaking Togwotee, Star Valley, Island Park and West Yellowstone all suck. That being said, it is better than it will be in July, so I am likely riding somewhere Saturday.

An active weather pattern is expected during the middle part of the week...especially across the Central Mountains. It's still early and these totals WILL change but here's an early look at potential snowfall from Wednesday - Friday across the region.

Drove to bozeman for work from IF yesterday, a lot of old tracks filled in, but barely. Looked like more snow on the south end, less and less towards montana/west.
This new storm system hasn't arrived YET.
Tonight the first flakes should begin falling.

Has anyone ever got a ticket for riding in the park? We had 8" of fresh yesterday and every creek bed we rode up and stopped at the boundary there was always 2 forest rangers sitting on top of the hill to catch us. They followed us for along while and finally we just left.
