5 PM MST FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREAT FALLS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS
EVENING TO 5 PM MST FRIDAY.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN THE
VALLEYS...WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS. A FEW ISOLATED
RIDGE TOP LOCATIONS COULD RECEIVE UP TO 12 INCHES. NORTHEAST WINDS
WILL ALSO CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...ALONG WITH
WIND CHILL VALUES OF 15 TO 25 BELOW ZERO.

I have friends that left this morning for West, they will send me some reports about the hills.

I like to check the avy report first...Doug Chabot is saying 4 inches in west yellowstone as of 7 am this morning with 4-6 more this more expected today..

always check the avy report before going out into the back country!!
