if you weren't on a pro, what would you be on?

Really, who gives a **** about Maxwell, like most doo riders a legend in their own minds :face-icon-small-dis

funny thing, my buddys name is maxwell, hes maxxitout77 on here, for a minute i thought you were refering to him fred.

i would love to try one out, but there are no demo rides around me. they had one at the snodeo ( sled festival) here in Nh, but they wouldn't let us ride one, it was just for display. i remember back a few years, polaris had the assault and it was just on display, but one guy wanted to ride it so they gassed it up and let him take a rip. take notes doo, u need to let people ride all the new iron. i could have been sold on one that day, but i'm not based upon my experiences on my back country.

i don't need a 163 here, you should here the **** we get for having a 155 in new hampshire & maine.

Don't worry about those guys. It's hard to say much when you can keep up with them on the trail with a 155". :face-icon-small-coo

I rode the 13 doo and can honestly say it is one impressive snowmobile. I've never been a fan of ski doo at all but that new chassis is a huge improvement. It definitely is not an XP with new plastics. It handles 100x better than the XP. Lays over far easier then the poo or cat, gets up on the snow pretty good but not quite as well as the pro still, and the power is unreal. I sure wish polaris could deliver us that kind of reliable power in this chassis. With all of that being said the steering is still goofy for me. Climbing off my pro it was difficult for me to hold sidehills. The steering was fighting me every step of the way.

My recommendation would be to definitely not add one to your fleet if your other sled is a pro. They are too different to ride to be fun. You will spend half the day trying to get used to whichever one you are back on at the time. The cat and Polaris handle very similarly. Personally I think an 1100T cat with boondocker hijacker cranking it up to about 250-300 horse might be fun along side the pro but if its something the girl is going to ride stick to the 800s. The cat is probably the best mountain trail sled ever built so definitely a good way to go for a backup sled.

After riding a 09 XP I have a hard time believing that the XM sled is easier to pull over than a pro. But I've been wrong before. Also, if they still have the super narrow (narrower than the other brands) ski stance like they did in 11-12 plus a suspension that is articulates left and right it could be true. To me those are just band-aids to an ill handling mountain sled. But what ever they have to do to compete I guess.

I still have an IQ in the stable that I feel is real easy to pull over and have fun on. Love my Pro though.

The Doo ? Well, it's more like a cave man's club. Very powerful, but not a precision instrument by a long shot :)[/QUOTE]

That's funny stuff right there.

IQ and M-Series are like sharp skinning knives, easy to work with and that would make the Pro like a scalpel, just a little more precise. The Doo ? Well, it's more like a cave man's club. Very powerful, but not a precision instrument by a long shot :)

That is accurate.
Sort of like a Pro is like a Miata and a Xp a Shelby Mustang. :face-icon-small-ton

If i couldnt ride a xp/xm i would ride a Pro.

I was thinking of trying a Doo XM for next year, but I would definitely keep the '12 Pro too. I was really hoping Poo would drop a stronger motor in the Pro for '13. An XM would have to be a major improvement over the XP before I would make that jump again though. My '11 E-Tec is not very impressive.

Keep it similar. My buddy has an 08 turboed xp and a new pro. He will never ride the xp again. He can also do 10 times more stuff on the pro than he ever thought about on the xp. The xm might be a good sled, I don't know. Still has too much weight too far forward. Shouldn't have to narrow a sled up 3 inches narrower and put flex joints in the rear, plus cut cords in the track to try and keep up with the competition. If I were you I would get a 13 pro.

we rode the 13 xm this last weekend, i had found the older xps big and hard to sidehill compared to my m8, but the new xm is a different animial, i have a felling that new skid will be the future, it climbed much better than the pro

the rep was saying that the weight of the pro compared to the weight of their new xm is less than 20 lbs once they are full of fuel, not that big of difference

i personally like the proclimb, but the belt issue is a major issue

Really, within 20lbs?!

Safe

being in a flatland area the turbo nytro is out, not enough altitude. i'm leaning heavily towards the 13 pc8, if i don't like it i could always unload it in a year or so. my wife is talking about starting to try for kids in the next 1-2 years. when that time comes i will sell whatever i have and buy 1 new sled. i think my wife will like the pc8, she still likes to ride trails, and when i rode the pc8 it felt a bit more stable than my sled in corners. i went away from doo because of the xp, i don't like the feel of it. i was hoping for a complete overhaul this year, but its still an xp.
If you ever thot of a boosted sled in the flatlands, the Tnytro is by far the safest sled out there. As for the second sled thing....My girls ride M8's..2010 and 2011 153....I would and do ride them as a second sled with no regrets at all.
