if you weren't on a pro, what would you be on?

Probably a ProClimb M800 or a '10 or '11 M8. I agree with what some are saying above about the '10-'11 M8 being the second best mountain sled ever made (The Pro is an improved M sled), but after spending time on a ProClimb it would be tough to ride the M chassis again. The Proclimb is just more fun to ride.

Haven't ridden a late model XP or the new XM... I need vertical steering though.

being in a flatland area the turbo nytro is out, not enough altitude. i'm leaning heavily towards the 13 pc8, if i don't like it i could always unload it in a year or so. my wife is talking about starting to try for kids in the next 1-2 years. when that time comes i will sell whatever i have and buy 1 new sled. i think my wife will like the pc8, she still likes to ride trails, and when i rode the pc8 it felt a bit more stable than my sled in corners. i went away from doo because of the xp, i don't like the feel of it. i was hoping for a complete overhaul this year, but its still an xp.

I would be on my Kmod/raptor '10 M8. Second most predictable sled I've ever ridden. I found my proclimb more fun to ride than the M series in most situations except deep/steep downhill turns, and extremely steep sidehills. I need that predictability though, so I'm on a pro now. Even though I do love that Cat 800 motor.

we don't have to much steep here in the northeast, well at least not steep like out west. my wife isn't going to go out and sidehill like mad, or do any down hill turns, i'm looking to just get here out into the backcountry and feel comfortable exploring with us and get to the areas that we like to go to. she likes to take pictures of us doing our thing. most of the time its just small inclines thru trees to get to our good areas. a few small hill climbs but nothing like you guys have out west. i'm almost worried that the pro will be to tippy for her. right now shes on a bcx 800 etec, which is good for trails and loggin roads, but she won't venture to far from those roads because she doesn't want to get stuck, and she knows she will.

2012 or 13 switchback assault with the 2" paddle i would think would do the trick for the wife and a backup-sled for you

i was thinking that as well, my other thought is that this is a good excuse to upgrade to a 13 for me.:face-icon-small-hap
i think that from an easy of maintence/parts stand point, having 2 of the same sled could be cost effective. i could get away with one extra belt, one extra set of plugs, same oil, less tools, etc.. i will probably have to get a different bar set up for the 12 though, shes a few inches shorter than me and those bars might be a bit to high.

How about stay with Poo, but add:

PRO 163
PRO 600
or
Assault?

I could see owning a 155 and 163 and having that be money well spent or dump your 155 and get 13 PRO 660 155 and a 13 PRO 800 163 - then you would have it going on.

I rode the 13 doo and can honestly say it is one impressive snowmobile. I've never been a fan of ski doo at all but that new chassis is a huge improvement. It definitely is not an XP with new plastics. It handles 100x better than the XP. Lays over far easier then the poo or cat, gets up on the snow pretty good but not quite as well as the pro still, and the power is unreal. I sure wish polaris could deliver us that kind of reliable power in this chassis. With all of that being said the steering is still goofy for me. Climbing off my pro it was difficult for me to hold sidehills. The steering was fighting me every step of the way.

My recommendation would be to definitely not add one to your fleet if your other sled is a pro. They are too different to ride to be fun. You will spend half the day trying to get used to whichever one you are back on at the time. The cat and Polaris handle very similarly. Personally I think an 1100T cat with boondocker hijacker cranking it up to about 250-300 horse might be fun along side the pro but if its something the girl is going to ride stick to the 800s. The cat is probably the best mountain trail sled ever built so definitely a good way to go for a backup sled.

i jumped back on my bcx last weekend and man was that wierd, i kept saying to my self, " how did i ever ride this." the doo is my third choice to be honest. right now its rmk or pc8.

I can tell you when I rode the 2011 etec I could not maneuver it at all. The ergos were completely wrong for me. The 2013 is way way better but not quite as good as the others still. Someone that is used to ski doo would love it for sure.
