How about some ride reports form guys that have the new boost

You guys really think its the weight that makes the front end feel heavy? I’ve got a hard time believing the 15ish extra pounds would make any noticeable difference unless it were hanging out 10 ft in front of the bumper.

23 claimed pounds. Night and day on boosted pro vs 850 kaos. You could always tell the difference between the weight of a boosted polaris and stock. Just not this big of a difference. It is kaos geometry vs. Pro. If your boost is a kaos then it's not adjusted right.

I never noticed the additional weight of a boosted sled I guess.

It’s probably more the overall change in weight distribution front to rear.

Add weight overall.
Remove weight from the rear.

I spent time with the head mechanic at Polaris dealer about heavy ski pressure. Gonna look to adjust the RTS first and verify Spring position vs book. Seems that a lot of sleds went out with spring, not in the right position. Gonna start at a factory-neutral setting and work from there. I was gonna pull battery etc, but he thinks work on geometry first then look at pounds. I also have Fox Evol 3 to add but suggested we got the WE shocks set up correct first to see. The plan is to work on this weekend. I put about 75 miles on the sled. love the power but hate the heavy front end. After talking with him, I really think my track geometry is off more than the pounds upfront.

I never thought there was either until my wife was riding the 11 turbo pro and i was riding the stock 12 pro all day. She said something was wrong with the turbo. I took it and played with it for a while. I was like, wow, you can feel the weight of the turbo when not on the gas. I adjusted the boondockers box and got back to within one number of where i was. It still wasn't right. Finally dawned on me that it was spark plugs. My turbo cat had samething happen once and 12 pro would go through 2 sets a year. Just all of a sudden run like crap. Change plugs and you were golden. I'm sure the 165 boost rides lighter than the 11 turbo but once you get used to easier, such as kaos or alpha, you don't want to go back. Go try riding some older sleds that you thought were awesome in the day and you will think, i can't believe i rode that. Only reason i brought that up was because my wife said she was glad she didn't get the boost and she never thought the old turbos were that heavy. I think they need the kaos geometry. If you don't think they feel a little heavy you never knew what light is.

New update....I loosened the RTS shock about 3/8 inch and tighten FTS about one and a half full turns. In addition, I moved the skis to the inside setting. NIGHT and DAy change difference. The sled handling changed dramatically ...I am 215 without gear. My plan is another half turn on FTS and see. I was about to give up NOW LOVE this sled. Slash tunnel in deep snow is awesome. With Boogie wheels in on New sled, I cannot use my FOX track shocks on boost...I guess the RES would hit wheels....

Swap the rear torque arm from an axys.

Way cheaper than new shocks.

Over 200 miles on the sled and one issue. I cracked ceramic on the plug and the tip was missing...concerned but the sled running fine. ran another 25 miles to get back to the cabin. I got a pre det warning about 10 miles before I lost power and knew the plug was cracked. Has anyone used NGK iridium plugs and have thoughts? More expensive but this is my 3 rd cracked NGK in two years.

IDK
Iridium is quite different from platinum in strength, performance, durability, and degree of melting point. Iridium is arguably eight times stronger and six times harder than platinum. It has a higher melting point of about 700 degrees compared to platinum.

Platinum spark plugs wear out faster than iridium spark plugs. Iridium plugs are said to be more durable compared to platinum plugs up to 25% more.

I love NGK but I have had the ceramic crack before on an 800. Sled was running fine but I wanted to check the plugs color anyway. Pulled the hood up and notice oil on top of the head right away, plug wire was oily. Looked at the plug and there was a crack along the plug and could see clearly that oil was seeping through that crack. The rest of the plug was fine though. I had another do the same but after I loosened it and tried to spin it out by grabbing the ceramic that the whole top came off. I don't know if it came from a box that had been dropped, if I dropped it at one point, etc. Maybe I should just stop jinxing myself by lifting the hood for no reason while riding. But ever since I religiously store mine in an encapsulated plug caddy rather than the holder under the hood. I have not had a problem since that box and using a caddy.

NGK has had a lot of issues the past few years.

Also there’s been copycat ngk’s hitting the market. (Knockoffs)

This kind of applies: I rode, back to back, my two buds' Boost 165 Pro and NA 165 Khaos. Both 22's. The Khaos felt a TON heavier in the front than the Boost. Super heavy steering. He had Mohawks on it. No idea on setup on either sled. The Boost felt "normal" to me compared to the NA. And I cannot ride a Poo to save my life. However, the 22 Slash models felt much more comfortable to me, more Skidooey.
