Have you Heard..... 2009 Yamaha's

Since when is the Apex not already rider forward? Did we forget the RX1? That's what the Apex is.

It would be a lot easier to crank up the hp, in the Apex, spin it higher, and gear it lower. The Nyto, not so easy, because the primary clutch, becomes ineffecient, around 10,000 rpm. I could see the Apex, going to 165 hp.

R they going to release the specs of the sled? Rx1 and Apex are completely different, not just moved forward

REALLY? What's the big differences except EFI and rider forward? Different hood? Side panels?

My wild guess is that the short track will be released first, as a direct competition to Ski-Doo's new 4 stroke. Beefed up Apex motor in newer style chassie....1200 175hp gear reduction motor? Yes please. Horsepower overcomes weight by far.

the entire suspension, is different, front and rear, tunnel, handle bars, riser, seat, and of course, all electical (efi, computer, etc), even the ski's were different, starting with apex. The engine started with the performance crankshaft, and different cam timing, as well.

If you think they are similar, you have not riden both.

oh I have ridden them both... I know stock for stock the Apex is a bit different...Basically a beefed up motor with added efi that's tilted more down in the chassie... Rides alot better, but...get the bars forward, an Apex seat for nothing, or a boss seat, 05 or newer skis... and bang...you've got a nice sled... Suspension sucks on both...But I will give you that the Apex susp is a bit better...

The sled IS basically the same... come on..don't tell me the Apex is all that, in stock form? I had a stock one...for about one day or so... Liked it, but you can get a RX for half the price you pay for an Apex these days....and..parts are cheap... AND, boost is cheaper for the RX...

Now...I'm thinking we will se MORE of a change with the new sled than what we saw between the RX and the Apex....

obr, around here the rx's have leveled off. They were actually less expensive to buy, a few years ago. They have gone back up. Used rx's, short tracks, are all, in the 4 g range, and I remember, back in 04, some guys giving them away then, for 4500. I've also seen used Apex's for low 6's and high 5's. There was one in the paper for 5 grand, because he had a broken headlight mount.

EFI, is the only way to go, for me, with boost. I can't imagine fiddleing with carbs, anymore. I'm too old! lol

that's actually interesting....didn't know that they have gone that way over there...I've seen some RX's going as low as 2500g's...Not here, we don't get them under 10g's....USD... But....that's because of our regitration fee's and the way your currency is going down these days....

Now, I agree EFI is the shiet for Boosting... But..if I can build a proven RX Turbo for 3-4g's less than an Apex....it's kind of hard to defend....that being said...I'm not sure I ever will go back to carbed.... I think I'll see what they have for next year...really like my Nytro, but...if they make a Rider forward high-hp sled...the Nytro will have to go... If I can get a 175 hp sled, with weighing 20-30lbs more than the Nytro, it will be a no-brainer....only question is the price..if you can add boost for cheaper than what you have to pay if you sell your Nytro and get the new whatever-it's-calles sled...it will make the decision alot harder....

Thanks geno,

Have a buddy with a turbod' rx1 and a apex turbod, I wouldn't spend the money to ride the damn thing in the mountains, that's ridiculious, Rx1 was cool for flatland riding and that's bout it, they're gonna milk that nytro for the next 3-5 years, they can't ruin what they created already. Spend the money to boost it and it's a wild machine, best boondocking machine I have owned, had an xp early in the season sold it and bought a nytro.
